Essential is a non-heated yoga studio where OM is for ALL. 💜 Welcome home to Essential!

Yoga means different things to different people, but at its most essential, it means union. It means finding connection with yourself, your breath, your teacher, your community, and your world. So whether it’s your first time on a mat or your thousandth time in crow pose, when you walk into Essentail Yoga, you are welcome because we are one.

Over the last few days, I’ve received so much feedback from Essential students helping me see that we’re right where we should be (and growing!)! 🌱

A longtime off-and-on student shared at an event Friday evening that she likes to explore other yoga studios in Springfield but that she always comes back to Essential - she loves the studio environment, inclusive culture, and personalized attention she gets at Essential. 🥰

A new student shared at our Tea Circle on Saturday morning that she chose Essential for our community presence - community at Essential and wider - she sometimes gets lost in all of the tug of war of the roles she plays in family and life and, at Essential, she just gets to be herself in the presence of others. (YES PLEASE!! 🙌)

Two students recently signed up for Radiant Bodhi Yoga Teacher Training which I’m SO EXCITED (and feel so lucky!) to be hosting at Essential this Fall! 🥳

Last night, another new student shared that she’s so thankful she found Essential: she’s tried other studios “that say they’re for everyone” but couldn’t really find a feeling of Belonging there. Like “maybe she wasn’t REALLY the kind of student they were looking for…” 🥸 She said she loves our “OM for ALL” tagline and that it permeates to all we do. ME TOO. 🤗

Oh, and speaking of OM for ALL: Pride Month is all year around here. We got you! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Our class sizes might be small but we’ve got it all and I’m so grateful we do! We’ve got a place for you if you’re looking to begin or share your practice. 🥰

To all of our students and teachers who make Essential what it is: THANK YOU for being you! I couldn’t do this without you! 🙏

Enjoy your Tuesday! See you soon!! 💜💜

PS have you been lurking here but not sure where to start? Head to our website and click NEW HERE? It’ll take you right your our Specials page! 🌟

I can’t wait to be part of this event! What a gift to get to share yoga in this way! 🤗

Three weeks. Only THREE WEEKS AWAY! 🌿

I won’t sugarcoat it, putting together the All Natural Festival has been one of the most time-consuming, detail-heavy labors of love I’ve ever taken on. There have been late nights, long to-do lists, and more moving pieces than I ever anticipated. But every single bit of it has been worth it.

Because here’s what keeps me going: the vendors. These incredible, passionate, talented people who believed in this event before it even had a crowd. Who said yes to what this festival stands for and are showing up to share their hearts and their craft with all of you. I am so deeply grateful for every single one of them.

And The City of Republic, I just love this community so much. To be able to bring something like this to our city, and to watch surrounding communities come together to celebrate and support local, all-natural businesses… that means everything to me. A place where you can shop, explore, and enjoy without wondering what chemicals or toxins might be hiding in a product. Just real, intentional, wholesome goods made by people who genuinely care.

That is worth every late night.

We are almost there, friends. I cannot wait to see you all on June 27th at Spring Creek Estates. Come ready to slow down, bring a blanket to lay on and just soak it all in. Come support something truly special. 🌸✨

🌿 What does your body need today? 🌿
Not every day calls for the same thing.

Some days you need movement.
Some days you need stillness.
Some days you need strength.
Some days you need rest.

Yoga teaches us to listen—not just to our minds, but to our bodies as well.

Before you move through your day, take a moment to check in with yourself:
What do you need more of today?

Drop your answer in the comments:
💜 Movement
💜 Calm
💜 Energy
💜 Rest
💜 Connection

There are no wrong answers. Just opportunities to honor where you are right now.

This morning, I walked into this sticky note on our Studio’s bathroom mirror - I don’t know who shared it but here’s what I do know:

At Essential Yoga Studio, we welcome your weird. To be more accurate, we INVITE your weird. 👽

Also welcome and invited:

Your awkward
Your imperfect
Your “almost there”
Your “I’ll keep trying…”
Your “I hope this is enough today!”
You, just as you are

So, while you’re navigating a life that sometimes feels too heavy to hold, a body that feels like it just can’t keep up, or a mind that won’t slow the eff down, we’ll keep providing a space to let you set it ALL down and breathe into your inherent enoughness - even if it’s just for an hour on your mat. 🙌

We’ve got a full weekend of classes and our monthly free community builder this weekend and I can’t wait to see you! 💜

Happy Friday!! 🤗

This event will be held from 9-10a and is a great way to get to know our Studio and me (as the owner of this incredible space!) and be heard and supported in your intentions for the month of June. 🤗

Super extra special congratulations to one of our newer members, Cindy M, for winning last month’s Bingo grand prize - a $100 Visa Gift Card!! 🥳

Cindy was on her A-game in May! She was strategic and attended so many classes and shared her love for Essential on socials and won 3 individual bingos ‼️ - she was only one of three students who won that many times! 🙌

Through a random draw, Cindy also wins our grand prize. 🏆

Cindy started coming to classes at Essential in April, hoping yoga would help with some physical aches and pains she’d been experiencing. She’s attended 3-4 times weekly since and got her daughter to join her in practice. They share feedback with me, cheer me and the Essential team on in our leadership of this little yoga home, and help make Essential a better place for so many! I’m so grateful for Cindy (and Casey!) and their support of Essential! 🥹

Thank you to everyone who played along in May! You shared with me that you attended classes you’d never attended before and met teachers you didn’t know because of this game - I hope this friendly competition helped broaden your yoga horizons, increase your confidence, and deepen your connection to our community! 💜💜

What should we do next? A summer yoga attendance challenge? Another round of bingo? A studio scavenger hunt?! Share your brilliant ideas with me!! 📣

Congrats again, Cindy! Love you so big, my friend!! 🥰

I just returned from a family camping trip and wanted to share my admiration and gratitude for Shine Yoga Studio in the Springfield yoga community. 🙏

It has been such a blessing to grow alongside Robin the last 3.5 years of my own studio ownership and I have so much respect for how she supported her yoga family. I’m hopeful to have the opportunity to host Robin’s offerings as she explores her future. 🤞

While I’m excited to welcome Shine students as they explore new yoga homes, I am deeply humbled by how hard it is to lose your space of safe and transformational practice. 🥺

✨✨ Shine students: take your time and pour your love into Shine over the next six weeks. We’ll be here with open arms and hearts after. In the meantime, have questions about Essential or want to come visit and see our space? Join me for one of the following connection opportunities or DM me for scheduling a special time that meets your availability.

Free Tea Circle & Intention Setting (open to everyone): this Saturday 6/6 from 9-10a

Open House & Open Mic Poetry Night: Saturday 6/20 from 6-830p

A Visit at Shine Yoga Studio: Tuesday 6/30 from 6-7p

Big love to this yoga family. 💜💜💜

Hello Shine Family,

It is with deep sadness that I write to let you know I have made the decision to close the studio. For the past 3.5 years, Shine has truly been a labor of love. I have given this everything I’ve had to give, and I am incredibly proud of what we have created together. I’m proud of our teachers, who have shared their knowledge so generously and helped create such a welcoming and supportive environment. And I’m deeply grateful for every single person who has walked through our doors and played a role in making Shine the beautiful community it has become.

This chapter has also been one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Alongside being a full-time massage therapist and yoga teacher, I have also been the studio owner, marketer, cleaner, organizer, scheduler, and wearer of all the hats that come with building a business from the ground up. Over time, the stress and responsibility have taken a toll on both my health and my personal life. I’ve reached a point where I know I need to begin taking better care of myself and finding balance again.

I have spent time trying to find someone who might want to carry Shine forward, and while I haven’t found that person yet, part of me still hopes the right person may step forward so that Shine could continue on in some form.

At this time, our final class is planned for July 11, 2026. We will gather for Root to Rise – Vinyasa Flow at 10:30am, followed by a mini sound bath to bless the space and everyone who has been part of it. We will also be having a studio “garage sale” the weekend of July 11 (times TBD) with bolsters, blankets, blocks, furniture, candles, décor, and so much more. You’ll have a chance to take an actual piece of Shine home with you. We will also be having a community work day on Sunday, July 12 for anyone who would like to help us pack, clean, organize, and lovingly prepare the studio for closure.

I’m also very grateful to share that I’ve created a partnership with Essential Yoga and hope many of you will continue your practice there after we close. Sunni has always been warm, supportive, and generous with her guidance whenever I had questions about studio ownership. She has never treated me like competition, and I appreciate her deeply.

For anyone with an active membership on our closing date, Essential Yoga will be offering a special discount to help welcome you into their community. Essential Yoga will also be hosting an Open House on June 20 from 6–7pm, followed by a free Open Mic Night from 7–8:30pm for anyone who would like to visit the space and connect with their community. Sunni will also be coming to Shine for a meet-and-greet on June 30 at 6pm so you’ll have a chance to connect with her, ask questions, and learn more about Essential Yoga in a relaxed and welcoming way.

Our regular class schedule will remain in place through closing, and our teachers have lovingly committed to staying with their classes through this final chapter. (The only schedule change is that Emily will no longer be teaching Saturdays, per her request.) More than anything, I would truly love to see these final classes filled with familiar faces, new faces, laughter, connection, and community. If Shine has meant something to you, I hope you’ll come practice with us during these last weeks and help us celebrate everything this space has been.

A few logistical notes:

• Memberships will be prorated so your final payment ends on July 11 and you are not overpaying.

• If you currently have class passes, we encourage you to come practice and use them over these final weeks. More than anything, I hope you’ll spend this time being part of the community while we are still together in this space.

• For class packs purchased within the last 60 days, I will either issue a credit toward future events with me or refund unused passes when appropriate.

• I’ve also added a 6-class pack option for anyone who is running low on passes and wouldn’t be able to use another full 10-class pack before closing.

Although the studio itself is closing, this is not the end of Shine completely. We will be transitioning from Shine Yoga Studio to Shine 417 and will continue offering Kirtan, Satsang, Sister Circle, Conscious Men’s Club, sound baths, retreats, and other special events — just without one permanent studio location. While this chapter is ending, Beloved Body Massage will continue, and I’ll still be offering massage therapy and future community events through Shine 417.

Shine has always been built through community, and it feels meaningful to close this chapter together as well. Please know this decision was not made lightly. My heart is breaking, and there is so much sadness in letting this chapter go. But I also know I have reached my personal limit in how much I can continue to hold on my own.

Thank you for every class attended, every kind word, every conversation, every laugh, every tear, every hug, every moment of trust, and every bit of support along the way. Shine has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

With so much love and gratitude,

Robin

June invites us to slow down, soak up the sunshine, and embrace the energy of a new season. As the days grow longer and nature flourishes around us, it’s the perfect time to reconnect with yourself, breathe a little deeper, and create space for what helps you feel balanced and well.

At Essential Yoga Studio, we believe wellness isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up for yourself, exactly as you are.

Here’s to longer days, fresh beginnings, and finding a little more peace, strength, and joy throughout the month ahead. We can’t wait to practice with you.

Happy June from all of us at Essential Yoga Studio!

- Michele🌷
