Metro Tacoma Fencing Club

This past weekend Rain City Fencing Center hosted our region’s RYC and RJCC. Several MTFC fencers competed and earned regional points to help them qualify for the upcoming Summer Nationals and the July Challenge in Portland.

Christopher, Gabriel, Gloria, Harrison, Ian, Jaelynn, Jaiden, Joe, Lucas competed in Epee and Foil events ranging in age groups from Y10 all the way to Junior!

Special congrats to Gabriel who won GOLD in Junior Men’s Foil and renewed his A26!! Also congratulations to Christopher on his BRONZE in Junior Men’s Foil.

We hosted an MTFC members only team tournament last Sunday at the club. Of the seven fencers, none had done a team tournament so this casual tournament was a great learning experience.

Everybody won a prize! Here are some with their potatoes, chips, candy bars, and oranges.

This past weekend, SAS hosted an RYC for the youth fencers in our region. Several MTFC fencers participated and all earned regional points! Great job to Dylan, Zachary, Lucas, William in foil, and Gloria and Ian in epee!! Special congrats to Gloria for her 6th place finish on Y14 Women’s Epee!

Our friends at Rain City Fencing Center (RCFC) in Bellevue just posted their Super Youth Circuit (SYC) event to be held April 17-20. This is a national points event which is only one level down from the North American Cup (NAC) national tournaments. If you are competing more regularly and want a chance to fence some of the best fencers around the country, be sure to sign up early as there is a cap on the number of fencers who can compete.

We had a very successful social this past Saturday. Delicious food, fencing, and friends! We'll plan to do one per quarter and we'll announce the next one soon.

MTFC was at the Remenyik ROC held at Northwestern University. A BIG congratulations to Christopher who took GOLD, winning a giant sword and earning a brand new A25!! It was also great to see Benjamin competing alongside his brother! Great job!!

This past weekend, our friends at Rain City Fencing Center hosted the RJCC and Div II ROC. We were happy to see so many of our fencers competing in both foil and epee!

Congratulations to Jaelynn, Crystal, and Christopher who brought home GOLD medals in Div II Women’s Foil, Junior Women’s Foil, and Cadet Men’s Foil, respectively. Jaelynn also got BRONZE in Cadet and Junior Women’s Foil!

A special congratulations to Gloria who earned a BRONZE medal in Cadet Women’s Foil along with a brand new C25!!
