🌊 When Jesus came up out of the Jordan, the heavens tore open, the Holy Spirit descended and rested on Him, and a voice said, "You are my beloved Son, with you I am well pleased" (Mark 1:11, ESV).

🌊 That water marked the start of something Scripture later names outright, dunamis, the Greek word for POWER, the same surpassing power Paul says belongs to God and not to us, carried like treasure in jars of clay (2 Corinthians 4:7, ESV).

🌊 The Spirit who came down at the Jordan is the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead and now lives in everyone who belongs to Him.

🌊 Water has carried this weight since Genesis. It purifies, and it buries the old life to raise the new one, and Paul writes that we were buried with Christ in baptism so we might walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4, ESV).

🌊 Jesus went further than purification. He became THE SOURCE, telling the woman at the well that whoever drinks the water He gives will never thirst again, because it becomes in us a spring welling up to eternal life (John 4:14, ESV)! This is an open to anyone...WHO SO EVER drinks.

🌊 That is what Living Water does. It does not mask the soul, it heals it, because the same Spirit that split the heavens over the Jordan reaches the deep places in us words cannot touch.
