Sound up!
To celebrate National Radio Day, I dug into my archives.
If you didn't know, before I was a mom, Scout Leader, bike shop owner, professional triathlete, XC/Track & Field Coach, Radio Sales Rep....I worked on the air as a on-air personality.
I got my start in radio at WJPZ-FM (Z89) and WAER- FM Jazz 88.3. My first paid job was with "Hit Country 108, WHEN-FM". Later I was hired by New City Communications and worked on both B104.7 "Today's Hot New Country" and WYYY-FM "Y94-FM - More Favorites and Less Talk".
I believe my hourly rate at B104.7 was about $6.24 per hour. I worked at "The Bee" while in college in the early to mid 90s.
I plan to return to my broadcasting roots. I will be launching a podcast...stand by.

We think winning is showing up each day, making sound body & mind decisions and living a healthful life of gratitude. It is also pretty darn awesome when winning means climbing atop the podium and taking the top spot in a triathlon. ๐ฅ
Congratulations to Valerie Ritchie who finished 1st place in the female 70+ age group at the Lake Meridian Triathlon. She was 13th female overall! She posted a 5k split of 28:27. ๐ฎ

Good luck to Emily M., racing the Na Wahine Sprint Triathlon this weekend! ๐โโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
This one's a home race for Emily and that's no small thing. Racing locally is one of the most underrated strategies in an endurance athlete's toolkit:
๐ No travel stress. You sleep in your own bed and eat your own food before the gun goes off
๐บ๏ธ You already know the course. No surprises on the bike or run
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง Your people can be right there cheering. That's rocket fuel on race day ๐ฐ
Lower cost, lower logistics. More energy goes toward the race, not the trip ๐ฏ
Great for building confidence and testing fitness before a bigger "A" race later in the season
I love seeing our athletes race close to home when possible. It's a smart, low-stress way to rack up race experience and have fun doing it.
Let's Go,, Emily! ๐

Meet Dindo Rengel, fresh off the bridge at IRONMAN 70.3 Oregon (Salem) with a brand new personal best: 6:13:23... 54 minutes faster than his 2025 Oceanside finish!
His splits tell the story:
Swim: 51:35 โ 27:57 (nearly cut in 1/2)
Bike: 3:33:20 โ 3:07:06 (-26:14)
Run: 2:25:27 โ 2:19:28 (-5:59)
This is exactly the kind of progress we love to see. Consistent training, smart pacing, and trusting the strategy. So proud of you, Dindo!
Who's next? ๐

MEDAL MONDAY ๐
What a feeling!
Bronwyn Hogan crossed the finish line at the Tahoe Rim Trail 50K in Carson City, Nevada, taking 1st place in her age group (F60-69) with a time of 9:09:34, out of a field of 10 competitors.
33 miles of demanding Nevada singletrack. Hours of climbing and grinding it out. And she came away with the fastest time in her division.
Awesome results....
We didn't focus on the time, place or the outcome.
We focused on the day to day. Train, rest, recovery, strength, nutrition.
We focused on belief that we can.
We were realistic that the race would be hard.
In spite of those hard spots, the big gaps between aid stations, the body complaints...SHE DID IT!
Congratulations, Bronwyn. We are so proud of you and honored to be part of your journey.

Welcome to the team, Roland!
I'm so excited to welcome Roland C. to Hypercat Racing! Roland is gearing up for Ironman California on October 18th and we're building a smart focused strategy to help him tow the line strong and ready.
Roland brings serious Ironman experience to the table and I love that he's trusting me to help him make the most of his training time ahead.
If you're staring down a late-season Ironman or Ironman 70.3, (looking at you Ironman Florida), and want a strategy to get you to the start line confident and prepared, I'd love to talk.
Send me a DM.
Welcome aboard Roland!
Let's get to work. ๐๐ด๐ผ๐โโ๏ธ

Coach Rachel here..
I was diagnosed with ER+/HER- breast cancer in 2021. I had a lumpectomy, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I just finished 5 years of taking tamoxifen.
I'm grateful to be here. Others are not as fortuneate.
Participating in studies like this, is one of the easiest things that survivors can do that can have significant impact on future treatments and a cure.
Survivor? Please participate?
Know someone who is, please share.
Together we can move research forward and beat this beast of a disease.
