Road Closure from Vinton Police Department LA : Nixle Center St at Gum Cove Rd in front of Glen's Mart is closed until further notice due to an overturned 18 wheeler. There are no hazards on scene.

Boil Water Advisory from Vinton Police Department LA : Nixle Town of Vinton water system is under a boil water advisory due to a drop in chlorine levels in the system. All boil water precautions should be taken until further notice.

UPDATE 3/9/26: The burn ban has been lifted!

Due to current dry and windy conditions, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury has issued a parishwide burn ban, effective immediately.
The order prohibits all outdoor private burning of any kind. Prescribed burns are not included.
Calcasieu Parish fire departments have authority to extinguish fires that violate the ban, and violations may result in penalties.
Please help prevent grass and brush fires by following the burn ban until further notice.
