Pool vs. open water: same sport, different injury profile.

Alex Ewart DPT, CSCS- Swimming Specialist & Physical Therapist breaks down why open water swimmers deal with a unique set of mechanical challenges that differ from pool swimmers. Sighting changes everything. Every time you lift your head to navigate, you are loading your mid-back and lower neck in a way that just does not happen in the pool. When that area tightens up, it throws off your entire stroke and your shoulder pays the price.

If you have chronic shoulder pain and you swim open water, this is worth 60 seconds of your time.

Alex is presenting at Beyond the Breakers this November. Link in bio to grab your ticket.
