For serious and not-so-serious athletes, stretching is a crucial part of playing or practicing a sport. Stretching increases your range of motion and flexibility by making your soft tissues, such as muscles and ligaments, longer by decreasing stiffness. Long story short, stretching improves athletic performance and makes one less prone to injury. Added bonus, you leave class feeling better than you started. 🧘♀️😎💪

Does your yoga practice ever leave you feeling frustrated rather than balanced? Do you ever feel awkward and misaligned in your poses rather than strong and stable? Do you ever find yourself dreading certain common poses such as chaturanga and downward dog?
Although everyone's body types are different and there are many different styles of yoga, there are certain alignment principles that, when executed, can lead to a more fulfilling yoga practice.
Proper alignment in yoga can help establish a safe and balanced practice, allow the body to stretch and open while minimizing the risk of injury as well as enable you to become more aware of your body and practice acceptance. Correct posturing also keeps the body happy and healthy.
During this clinic, we will break down some of the common yoga poses and work on correct alignment, beginning with downward dog, chaturanga and the warrior poses and work toward more difficult poses such as shoulder stand and crow pose. We will utilize props and traditional alignment cues.
This is a workshop rather than a traditional yoga class and the goal is to provide you with tips and techniques to help you feel more fulfilled in your yoga practice. 🙏

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese system of coordinated physical postures, movement, breathing techniques and meditation that is designed to promote health, spirituality and physical fitness. This class involves gentle warm up exercises focused on joint flexion with smooth transitions. The exercise rhythmically combines relaxation and strength while cultivating a calming balance between breath and movement. Learn forms of self-massage using the ancient technique of "ten magic fingers" and end class with a guided, seated meditation.

Introducing our newest class...
MINDFUL MORNING MEDITATION
Every Monday, starting 2/7
7:15am - 8:00am
Led by: Shannon Stokes
The body follows the mind, and the mind follows the breath, so how you are breathing is how you are being. This class guides you through a mindful practice, breathwork (pranayama), and meditation to help decrease stress and noise and make space for a calmer, more relaxed mindset. A more relaxed mindset will lead to a happier and healthier body. Students will spend the class seated on their mat or in a chair, whichever is most comfortable.
“If you are going to rise, you may as well shine.” ☀️
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. This is similar to the “going to sleep” stage and is typically induced by a guided meditation. Blankets, bolsters/pillows and eye bags are all options that can be used to help create a comfortable space. Yoga Nidra helps to relieve stress, reduce anxiety and helps the body melt into a deep state of relaxation.
