Bright Moon Eventing is looking to add a member to the team. We are looking for a part time (or full time) working student. We can work around your schedule so it could easily fit someone wanting to do some work after school and on weekends. You can bring your own horse or have lessons and rides on one of ours. This is primary work in exchange for lessons and boarding but could possibly be a paid position for a limited number of hours. Located in White Post Virginia.

Had another great day yesterday at the Foundational Dressage and Jumping Clinic in Mobile Alabama. Thanks so much to everyone for having me and I look forward to seeing you next time!

First day of my Foundational Dressage and Jumping Clinic is in the books! Thanks Michelena Zalopany for organizing and hosting. We are having a dinner and a talk Sunday evening so come by and ask all the questions!

“Loki” is a 15.3 hand registered Appaloosa/Ahkel-Teke gelding. He’s 11 years old. He wasn’t broken until he was 7 so he got a later start in life and has many more years ahead of him. He’s sound with no maintenance. Stands for the farrier and vet. Clips, loads, travels well. Well behaved and easy to deal with at shows. Ties to the trailer. Does everything you want your horse to do.

Under saddle Loki is a pocket rocket. He likes to jump and he likes to go forward. He has been owned and ridden full time the last two years by an amateur so he is forgiving of mistakes but he needs a brave and confident rider as he is very forward thinking and likes to go. Very brave XC and loves water. He has scope and athleticism for days and his dressage is getting stronger and more consistent. No issues with ditches or banks. He has the scope and the base training to start moving up the levels.

We had a busy week of horse shows for Bright Moon Eventing!

On Tuesday I took two horses to the CDCTA CDCTA evening dressage show at Great Meadow. I had Glededen’s Caleb at his first horse show where he did his first two ever dressage tests and ended with a 4th place in a competitive Training 1 and 1st place in Intro C. Felicia Dalonzo Felicia’s Loki also went for some much needed dressage practice.

On Saturday we heading to Hunt Club Hunt Club Farms Eventing for their starter horse trials. I had Gleneden’s Born Lucky in his first full three phase and he was a star and came home with a pretty green ribbon in a large division. I also had Loki in his first BN and he was amazing, finishing 4th in a competitive field. Watch this space at the amazing Appaloosa will soon be officially on the market for anyone looking for a fun pocket rocket.

Finally we rounded out the weekend with Ann Gosset’s (Ann Elizabeth) Khurasan for a run around Loudon Hunt Pony Clubs Oatlands HT. He rocked around the BN and wanted to go back for a second trip. He also got a lovely 5th place ribbon.

Bright Moon Eventing is starting the search for a working student! We are a small eventing and dressage facility located in White Post Virginia. We are looking for someone local who has their own transportation as housing isn’t available.

Duties include all aspects of horse care. You can bring your horse or ride one of mine. Opportunities to ride and show for the right person. Can be full time or part time. I’m willing to work with school and work schedules come fall. We are a small, supportive team that focusing on correct basics and horsemanship.
