The "arch" is the foundational body position of skydiving. You bend your body into the shape of an arch. Think rainbow 🌈 Think banana🍌 It's the first thing every skydiver learns because it creates stability in freefall. Every skydiver learns it first and keeps practising it. Want to try it? A CUTAWAY is when a skydiver deliberately releases their main parachute mid-air, usually because it has malfunctioned, before deploying their reserve. It sounds scary, and the situation that causes it certainly is, but the process itself is trained so thoroughly that it becomes almost automatic. Pull one handle, main parachute gone. Pull the next, reserve open. It's one of the most important skills and safety drills in skydiving.🪂

✈️ The 'jump run' is the final flight path the aircraft takes before skydivers exit, carefully calculated so everyone lands back at the dropzone and not in someone's back garden. 😁
