🏃♀️Move the body. Change the mind.🧠
We often speak about the body and the mind as if they were separate.
But they are deeply connected, and the brain itself is part of the body.
Our breathing, muscles, heartbeat, hormones and nervous system are constantly communicating. So when we change what the body is doing, we also change the signals reaching the brain.
Maybe this is why movement can shift our state so powerfully.
I have seen it for years while teaching Pilates and group fitness classes.
People arrive carrying their day with them: stress, tension, mental overload, low energy.
Then we start moving.
Breathing changes. Muscles engage. Attention shifts.
And afterwards, people don’t only tell me that their body feels different.
→ They feel different.
I know this from my own life too.
Fitness and movement was never my main profession. It was my daily need, a fuel for life. I always combined it with a demanding career and family life. But movement is something I never wanted to give up, because it helped me reset, restore energy and come back to myself.
And when I felt better myself, I had more to give to others.
Meditation, breathing and stillness can be powerful too.
But sometimes, when the mind is already overloaded, asking it to calm itself can be a difficult place to start.
→ We can start with the body.
Move. Breathe. Walk. Stretch. Train.
Sometimes the change we are trying so hard to create in the mind begins with something very physical:
MOVEMENT.
