And just like that it's all over! Another amazing AJSA season in the books.

Thank you to everyone who has supported soccer in the region in any way during this year, it's much appreciated. We got to have a bit of fun finishing the season off with Cup Final day on Saturday, despite the crazy weather.

There's all the final details in the images, a couple of really special notes to add first though.
Firstly, it was amazing to see the girls soccer get up and running this year, it's unfortunate that it's had so many hurdles over the years, but it's great to have seen it start and for it to be engaged with so quickly. It's genuinely exciting to see where it will go in 2027 and beyond.

Secondly, with regards to individual awards, this year we changed the fairest and best awards slightly. Previously, the referees would vote and the coaches would each do a vote for an opposition player, and the votes all go towards one vote count. This year the referees and coaches still vote, but only the referee votes go towards F&B and the coaches votes go towards the Coaches Award. The Coaches Award didn't have to be based on who played the best, it's based on who provides the most value, so things like effort, improvement, teamwork etc were the more defining factors.

Lastly, the U16 and U18 competitions experiencing the Friday afternoon/evening football, it was great to have all 8 teams all play on the last Friday of the season and all be able to have their awards together, we hope everyone involved enjoyed the night and their season!

Next stop is Country Week, next week starting 28th September. Then it's on to preparing for the 2027 season 🥳😆

** CUP FINAL UPDATE **
All information has been sent to clubs that are playing this Saturday, we will email all clubs regarding the individual award winners by the end of today so please follow up with your club tomorrow onward if you don't hear anything.

Please see some minor changes to the kick off times to a few of the games this Friday and Saturday. There's been a change with one of the U16 games so there's a slight reshuffle which should allow presentations to happen while there is no game happening on C5. As always, even if your team/club don't have games, it's always a really fun day and there's always some really entertaining football to see, this year of course being that there are a couple of additional finals too, so get down and cheer on the teams involved!

Lastly, we would love a few additional helping hands on Friday afternoon and Saturday, mostly Saturday morning, nothing major needing to be done, just small things to help make the day special. If you can and would like to help please send a message through to us or email [email protected]

Last day of games for many teams tomorrow, but there's plenty of last minute excitement on and off the pitch!

In addition to the Girl Guides running the canteen tomorrow, we have something a bit different for everyone with the Pink Lotus Food Van down from 9am-2pm.
We also have the Albany Chamber of Commerce & Industry in attendance inside the pavilion, where you can pick up one of these amazing limited edition Albany/Kinjarling Monopoly boards! If you're looking for a birthday or Christmas gift, or maybe a gift for a coach or volunteer at your club 😉 then this is your chance to grab one while they're still available.

Just a heads up an email was sent earlier to all clubs regarding set up and pack down as well as cup finals for next weekend, hopefully everyone would've had that info shared with them. We'll have some more updates on cup finals after this weekend.

Thank you and good luck to all teams tomorrow ⚽️

***Couple of reminders/updates for tomorrow***

Tomorrow we have Sonics basketball club running the canteen, next week is Girl Guides. Thank you to both of these groups for stepping in to fill run a canteen, its much appreciated.
Both Sonics and Girl Guides have smaller crews, so if you're on a 9am game tomorrow and the nets and corner flags aren't completely set up when you arrive, please lend a hand and set them up, we will endeavour to have everything set up as normal.

Teams playing Cup games tomorrow, there are blue match cards on the bar in the pavilion., Please make sure that games on C1 & C2 the coaches and subs are standing/sitting on the pavilion-side of the pitch, C3 & C4 set up on the Barnasby drive side, most importantly both teams must be on the same side.

We have our last feedback and workshop sessions tomorrow, come and see our amazing facilitators in the pavilion, it's been great seeing the input so far. Times are as follows:
- AJSA to GSSA/junior to senior pathway - 9.30-10:30am
- school to club pathway - 10:00-11:00am

Final reminder, whilst Cup competitions can be a slightly more competitive event, we have an absolutely zero tolerance of abusive behaviour towards referees, players, coaches and other spectators. We all want our kids to have the best experience they can, so please support each other to make that happen.

Good luck to all teams tomorrow! ⚽️
