Knowlson Youth Grants
The Albany Junior Soccer Association is proud to support young people not only through football, but through initiatives that strengthen our whole community.
The Knowlson Youth Grants will provide funding each year for projects led by individuals, teams or clubs within the AJSA community that make a positive difference for young people. These grants encourage young people involved in AJSA to show leadership, contribute to their community, and support important causes affecting youth.
OUR INSPIRATION
These grants were inspired by the Knowlson Family. After more than a decade of dedicated service to junior soccer through their roles on the AJSA Committee, Grace and Jamie Knowlson have given so much to the sport and to the young people in our community — and that generosity is exactly what this program is about.
GRANT FUNDING
This year AJSA is making available up to $1,000 in total. Funding may be awarded as one grant or shared across several projects, with individual grants expected to be between $200 and $500. The number and size of grants will depend on the quality of applications received.
WHO CAN APPLY
Applications may be submitted by AJSA affiliated clubs, AJSA teams, individual players, and groups of players involved in AJSA competitions. Where an application is submitted by an individual or team, club endorsement may be required.
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
Projects should show a positive impact on young people, and may include:
• Youth mental health awareness programs
• Fundraising events for youth charities

Apologies, working through this as quickly as possible.
We're working with only 2 full size pitches so we've adapted slightly so that everyone still gets to play.
08/08/2026
Proceeding as normal at this stage, just shuffling some games around as there are some full sized pitches that are waterlogged.
U6/7s will be set up on the opposite side of the building to normal.
Some U13, U14 and maybe an U15 game will have to be rescheduled, we're quickly working through that now.

Have your say on the future of Albany junior soccer!
AJSA is holding feedback sessions on the future of junior soccer in Albany — and we need facilitators to help run them 🤝
Over the coming weeks, AJSA will be setting up desks at Saturday junior games where anyone from the soccer community can drop by for a one-on-one chat (you're welcome to come in pairs or small groups if you wish) about a topic that matters to them. We need volunteer facilitators for these desks - people who can hold a conversation with someone, listen well, and capture their feedback. We specifically don't want our committee members running these, since it needs to be a genuine, constructive conversation rather than a chance for someone to chase an on-the-spot fix to a personal issue.
We want to hear ideas on the following topics, with a strong focus on constructive and strategic thinking rather than past grievances.
Topics:
• Referees
• Pathway from U12 to U13s / school to club
• Pathway from AJSA to GSSA (including U16-18)
• Girls/Female football
• Country week
• Coaches – training and support
First sessions are expected from Saturday 15 August. Want to facilitate, or just want to know more? Get in touch by Tuesday 11th August — email [email protected] — and tell us which topic interests you. ⚽️
