This week we are spotlighting our Under 11 Girls (Vinny) team!

Middle Park FC vs Oakleigh Cannons | Away | Sunday 28th June 2026

A tough day out in Oakleigh against a strong, physical Oakleigh Cannons U11s side, but one our Parkers can be proud of.

Oakleigh were a formidable opponent and tested us from the first whistle. The scoreline doesn't tell the full story however— our girls never gave up, and if anything grew stronger and more composed as the game wore on.

In goals, Layla and Isabella were brave and commanding throughout, making saves that kept the score respectable. Both keepers looking very comfortable in-between the posts. In front of them, Ava & Zhara defended with real heart and determination against a physical forward line. Layla took on centre defence in the second half, determined to make life difficult for Oakleigh’s attack, which she did!

The midfield engine of Mabel, Lucy, Amelie, and Robyn worked tirelessly, defending the opposition attack with trademark determination and plenty of “in their grill” defiance. As well as holding the defence in midfield, Robyn & Mabel fed Abigail and Giana up front with some lovely forward passes that created genuine chances we were unfortunate not to take. Abigail’s speed on the ball a test for the Oakleigh defence all day.

Our MVP today Bela, was everywhere — sweeping out of defence, driving through midfield, and testing the keeper when the opportunity arose. A complete performance.

This week we are spotlighting our Under 9 Boys (Dan) team a.k.a Bulls!

Between Term 2 and World Cup knockouts, Middle Park U9 Bulls faced Bentleigh Academy at JL Murphy Reserve on Saturday, 27 June. Bentleigh treated the match seriously from kick-off — a disciplined warm-up and a no-nonsense French referee set the tone, warning against theatrics. Bentleigh dominated early with crisp passing and probing play, forcing the Bulls onto the back foot and opening the scoring. Middle Park’s stand-in goalkeeper, filling in while the regular keeper toured Tokyo Disneyland, produced a string of resolute saves to limit the damage at half-time.

After half-time oranges, we responded with renewed energy: sharper running, stronger defending and more purpose driving into the attacking third. Despite the improved shape and fighting spirit, opportunities rarely troubled Bentleigh’s composed keeper, whose safe hands quelled Middle Park’s advances. Bentleigh maintained control with patient, small-touch distribution, exploiting openings to extend their lead.

Despite the scoreline, the Bulls showed clear week-by-week improvement, competing valiantly against superior opposition while keeping the right attitude and enjoying themselves. The report applauds their resilience and progress and sends best wishes to Amaury — the team’s French connection — as he embarks on a return to his home country. He will be missed as an integral part of our U9 team.

Our women secured a hard fought 2-2 draw today against with goals from and .kerfers ⚽️⚽️

Today’s Superior Player of the Match goes to Cate Sposton for putting so much work in to the set up of our new home ground today.

In addition, Cate supported our players as match day physio and medic - which was badly needed throughout the contest.

Momentum is now building with the team unbeaten in 4 games 💪
