This week we're shining the spotlight on our U13 Boys team, coached
by Andy O'Loughlin and Dave Lau.

A diverse, hardworking and close-knit group, these boys share a genuine passion and love for football. Half the squad is made up of a strong core of returning players, complemented by some new additions who have blended seamlessly into the team, creating an exciting and talented group that continues to grow together both on and off the pitch.

The pre-season began in impressive fashion, with the boys crowned Hobsons Bay Magic Cup Champions before backing it up with a semi-final appearance at the Maccas Cup. These tournaments proved to be the perfect preparation for the regular season, helping the team build strong connections, confidence and momentum.

That momentum has carried into the season campaign, where the boys remain undefeated and sitting on top of the ladder. Their hard work was put to the test this weekend in a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash against fellow title contenders Whitehorse United.

From the opening whistle, the boys attacked the opposition half, applying good pressure and beginning to create opportunities. Whitehorse showed great resolve in defence and looked dangerous on the counter-attack, with some very pacy attackers putting our boys on the back foot.

An opposition free kick in a dangerous position just outside the box created a nervous moment, but the boys saw off the threat and continued to maintain possession. Their patience eventually paid off, with a fortuitous opening goal coming from a throw-in just before half-time.

The boys came out strongly after the break, adding a second goal through some good midfield aggression, a well-timed through pass and good finishing on the counter-attack. With the team continuing to defend well and work hard for each other, a final goal sealed a convincing 3–0 win in what was a fantastic display of determination, hunger and team spirit. The result also gives the boys some valuable breathing space at the top of the table.

Under the guidance of Andy and Dave, the boys continue to develop their skills, work ethic and team-first mentality. They train with intensity, compete for one another, and represent the club with pride every time they take the field.
With four rounds remaining in the regular season, the focus is on maintaining their excellent form, finishing the season strongly and securing a place in the Final Series.

Well done Parkers!!!

β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’š Run for Bertie | Remembering Bertie Whiting β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’š

Today, our Middle Park FC community came together to remember and celebrate Bertie Whiting - completing a lap around Albert Park Lake, sharing stories, and walking together in his memory.

Our State League women’s team wore red armbands, one of Bertie’s favourite colours, as a small but meaningful way to acknowledge the Bertie during their game.

A huge thank you to our past and current club members, Bertie’s friends, and members of our wider community who came along today. Your presence meant so much to Bertie’s family, Jase and Jo, and to all of us who continue to hold Bertie close.

Today was also an important reminder of the things that matter most: looking out for our mates, checking in, starting the conversation and taking mental health seriously. You never know what someone might be carrying, so please - ask the question, make the call, and be there for each other.

And we were incredibly proud to make a very special announcement today…

Bertie’s Kitchen ❀️

As part of our new clubrooms, we will name our kitchen β€œBertie’s Kitchen”, permanently honouring a much-loved member of the Middle Park FC family.

Bertie loved our club, his mates, his family - and good food. We hope that every meal shared, every conversation had and every gathering in that space will carry a little bit of his spirit with it.

You will always be part of our club Bertie. ❀️

This week we're shining the spotlight on our U9 Boys Wallabies (Roger).

Our U9 team had an evening game under the lights at JL Murphy Reserve v Williamstown on Thursday night. It was a rescheduled fixture from last month. The team had some mixed results but have now put together three wins on the trot, culminating in this fantastic win.

They didn’t come out unscathed. There were some hard hitting tackles and a lot of running, but they played fantastically for the win. 5 players on the score sheet, with goals from A***n, Ruari, Max, Ollie and Noah. But a whole team performance.

They’ve been listening to their coach - getting hungry for the ball, finding their team mates, taking lots of shots. Some great saves by Henry, wearing the gloves for the second time this season. From keeper through to striker, they were a joy to watch.

Well done Parkers!!!

This week we're shining the spotlight on our U11 Boys Kangaroos (Thomas F).

Fresh off a comfortable win against Manningham United this weekend β€” and this team has been building toward moments like that all year.

This season started as a rebuild β€” half the squad was new. A talented group of boys who somewhere between three training sessions a week and pre-season tournaments quickly formed a tight unit. Early tournament silverware gave the group belief and raised ambitions before the league competition had started.

Since then, they've been going toe to toe with the top clubs and academies in their league β€” and winning more often than not β€” playing a style of football that's genuinely exciting to watch. Three of the boys have earned selection into Football Victoria's SAP talent program β€” a reflection of the development and ambition of the whole squad.

But what makes this group special goes beyond skills and results. Eleven different nationalities coming together, forming strong bonds, and growing in how they support each other whatever the result β€” on and off the pitch.

This is a group that has learned how to win with humility, lose with dignity and bounce back from setbacks. We all keep learning β€” and this group makes that easy. Respect, resilience, responsibility.

This week we're shining the spotlight on our U18 Girls (Allan)! A wonderful team that helps to inspire our younger girls' teams!

πŸ† Match Wrap – Middle Park 4️⃣–0️⃣ Manningham United ⚽

What a fantastic performance from our Middle Park girls, who dominated from the opening whistle with great teamwork, composure and attacking football.

After creating several early chances, Adele opened the scoring in the 14th minute before combining beautifully with Mietta to add a second before half-time. Izzy made an important save to preserve our lead, while Zara was a constant threat down the field.

The second half saw Zara deliver a perfect corner for Sienna to score, before Zara deservedly capped off her outstanding game with a goal of her own to seal a convincing 4–0 victory.

A brilliant team effort with everyone contributing to a well-deserved win.
Congratulations to Sienna, our Player of the Match, for an exceptional all-round performance!
