🚨 12 DAYS TO GO! 🚨

The NRCC, in conjunction with BCCC, are ready to bring you the CRIT CARNIVAL! 🎪🚴‍♂️💨

Three races. Three very different challenges. One big day of racing, tactics, speed and a bit of chaos.

🔥 RACE 1 — THE FLYING 1 LAPPER
Hit the start line flat out and hold it for one short lap.
Sounds easy… 😏
It isn’t.

🇮🇹 RACE 2 — ITALIAN TEAM PURSUIT
Teams of 5 riders. 5 laps.
At the end of every lap, one rider drops off — leaving the final rider to bring it home.

Every team must include 1 woman + 1 junior.

It’s tactical. It’s fast. It’s a little bit ridiculous. And it’s bloody good fun.

💥 RACE 3 — THE GOOD OL’ CRIT
A standard crit… or is it? 👀
We might throw in a prime or two just to keep everyone honest.

Whatever your grade, there’s a race for you.

🔥 CRITS ARE ON TOMORROW! 🔥

The bikes are ready, the track is ready… now we just need YOU! 🚴‍♂️💨

Tomorrow, Sunday 6 September, we’re back at the Cavanbah Centre for another morning of fast racing, close battles, big smiles and Marco’s D Grade Coffee Shop serving up elite-level coffee! ☕️🏆

Numbers are a little light, so this is your chance to get amongst it! Race, have a crack, bring the kids, bring your mates, or come down and cheer from the sidelines.

The more people we have, the better the atmosphere — so let’s fill the Cavanbah and make it a proper Sunday morning of bike racing!

🚴‍♂️ What a day of racing! 🏆☕️

Round 1 of the Crit Series was a ripper — fast racing, great breakaways, flat tyres, plenty of attacks and some seriously close finishes.

The B Grade breakaway was a real highlight, along with a fantastic father-and-son podium in B Grade. 👏

A huge turnout of juniors was another highlight. Great to see so many young riders getting stuck into the racing!

And Marco’s D Grade coffee? Grand Tour level. ☕️😂

Thanks to everyone who raced, volunteered, cheered and helped make it such a great day.

AusCycling Event Day license are back! Even better still get the Event 7 Day and race follow up week.

Race 1 of the BBCC Crit Series is on this Sunday — racing for everyone, from juniors to seasoned racers and anyone keen to give it a go.

Fast laps, tight corners, big efforts, good vibes and plenty of banter. Bring the kids for the junior racing, bring your mates, grab a coffee and make a morning of it. ☕🏁

Whether you’re chasing the win, testing yourself or just curious about racing — come and get amongst it.

And whatever you do… don’t watch everyone else racing and wish you’d entered.

🚨 ONE WEEK TO GO — THE CRIT SERIES IS BACK! 🚨

This Sunday, 30 August, we kick off the Byron Bay Cycle Club Crit Series — three races, plenty of racing and, most importantly, plenty of fun. 🏁🚴‍♂️

Whether you’re racing for the win, trying to sharpen the legs, getting ready for another event, or just want to see what crit racing is all about — this is your excuse to pin on a number and get amongst it.

And it’s not just about the racing…

☕ Marco’s D grade Coffee Shop will be there with the coffee, the banter and the jokes. Guaranteed entertainment before, during and after the racing.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 BRING THE KIDS!
We want the next generation watching, cheering and getting inspired. Bring the family down, let the kids see what racing is all about and maybe plant the seed for the next generation of Byron Bay racers. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

And if you’re wondering whether crit racing is worth doing — absolutely. Short, hard efforts, cornering, positioning, sprinting and racing in a bunch… whatever you’re training for, you’ll get something out if it.

Byron Bay Cycle Club at Ballarat 🚲💨

A great weekend for BBCC at the Cyclocross Nationals and Round 7 of the National Series, with Martin Bloor, George Bloor and Alex taking on a fast, technical and seriously muddy Ballarat course.

Martin fought back from a horror first lap and two crashes to finish 4th in Masters 6, while Alex managed 7th — all while sporting a broken thumb and apparently choosing to completely ignore it! 😂 George put his technical skills to work in the U17s for an impressive 4th place.

To cap it off, Martin and George both took silver in their respective National Series categories. 🥈🥈

A bloody good weekend of racing, mud and laughs. ❤️🚲
