⚾️ HISTORY MADE! 💛

Today, our UFTG Girls SL70 team took to the diamond for their inaugural game — and we couldn’t be prouder!

A huge congratulations to every girl and woman who is part of this team. Thank you to Baseball Victoria for creating pathways and opportunities for girls to play together, build friendships and simply enjoy the game they love.

Every girl on the diamond today had an absolute blast, and that’s what it’s all about!

A special shout-out to Blackburn — what a great team to play against! We loved the energy, sportsmanship and fun that both teams brought to the diamond.

We can’t wait to see these girls continue to develop, support each other and have fun.

Because today was bigger than baseball. 💛
It was about community, friendships, belonging and creating opportunities for girls to play together.

Here’s to the start of something very special! ⚾️💛

VALE Neville Smyth 🪽

It is sad news that we advise the passing of Nevile Smyth a long standing member of the Upwey community from yesteryear.

Neville coached both teeball and juniors or was a team manager over the years and often was a co-driver of the team bus to junior tournaments in Geelong and Mt Gambier.

He ventured into the umpiring world as an accredited league umpire and was our own club umpire trainor to ensure we had high calibre refs for our junior games.

Neville is survived by his wife Jan, sons Cameron, Drew and Ashley (who all played baseball at Upwey) and his daughter Meaghan.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family in the passing of Neville and hope you find some comfort in knowing he will be entrenched in our clubs history and we will remember him fondly.

🖤💛⚾️🐯
