Located at West Oval on Church Street, the Geelong West Giants is the local community’s family sporting club. The Geelong West Giants have a unique structure in the Geelong region. With football and netball teams in both the Geelong Football and Netball League (GFNL) and the Geelong and District Football and Netball League (GDFNL). A GIANT THANK YOU!

A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time throughout the year and helped us deliver a successful GFNL Finals Series for AFL Barwon so far — whether you’ve been helping with our hosting responsibilities, working in the canteen, setting up, packing down or lending a hand wherever needed.

On behalf of the GWG Executive, we’d love to thank you properly!

Following the Senior Football game this Saturday, around 5pm, we’re inviting all of our volunteers upstairs in the rooms for food, drinks and the AFL Finals on the big screen.

We’d love to see as many of you as possible, both throughout the day helping us get the job done and afterwards for a chance to relax, catch up and enjoy some footy together.

The GDFNL Giants are excited to kick off our 2027
re-signings in style!

We’re thrilled to announce that five of our 2026 leaders have committed to the Giants for 2027 and are already looking forward to putting in a huge pre-season.

New Senior Coach Rory Nicol said:

“I sat down with these guys for 45 minutes and was super impressed with how passionate they are about the club and their desire to get better.”

Our GFNL Under 17 Division 1 netballers are taking the court for their last chance to secure a place in the Grand Final, and they deserve a huge Giants crowd behind them.

Let’s flood the stands at SCAADA Stadium with orange and get loud for this hard-working group as they continue to represent our club so brilliantly throughout this finals series.

TANNER LEWIS IS BACK FOR 2027

We’re thrilled to announce that Tanner Lewis has recommitted to the Giants for 2027.

Set to bring up his 50th game in the orange and charcoal next season, Tanner is back, locked in and ready to lead the charge.

After playing nine VFL games with Geelong this season, Tanner has taken his football to another level. His growth, leadership and work ethic, both on and off the field have been outstanding, and everyone at Geelong West is incredibly proud to see him taking his game to new heights.

Momentum is building at Geelong West. Re-signings like Tanner’s are a reflection of the belief, ambition and direction that is taking hold across the club. There’s plenty to be excited about, and Tanner will be a big part of what comes next.

Great to have you back for 2027, Tanner!

ESTELLE STEPHENS | 2026 LEAGUE BEST & FAIREST

A HUGE congratulations to our very own Estelle Stephens, who has been crowned the 2026 KEMPE GFNL 17 & Under Division 1 Netball League Best & Fairest!

Estelle polled 46 votes for the season, winning the award by a remarkable 18 votes!

What a season it has been for Estelle.

Not only has Estelle taken out the highest individual honour in the competition, but she has continued to push herself across every level of the game, cementing her position in our Senior A Grade team, representing the Geelong Cougars Development & VNL Reserves, and receiving the Geelong Cougars Development Coaches Award.

Estelle was also named Barwon State Titles Co-Captain, has been talent identified for the 19 & Under Victorian State Team, and has achieved her C grade umpire accreditation.

That is an extraordinary list of achievements for one season, a testament to Estelle’s talent, dedication, leadership and commitment to developing every part of her game.

The Giants are incredibly proud of you Estelle and absolutely thrilled to see you recognised with this outstanding individual honour.

JACK TREWIN | 2026 U18 DIVISION 1 LEAGUE BEST & FAIREST

A HUGE congratulations to our 2026 U18 Division 1 Co-Captain, Jack Trewin, who has been crowned the 2026 AFL Barwon U18 Division 1 League Best & Fairest!

Jack’s talent, composure, work ethic and ability to impact a game have been on full display throughout the season. A seriously gifted footballer, Jack has consistently shown why he is one of the most exciting young players in the competition.

But beyond his incredible football ability, Jack is a true leader and someone who is deeply respected and loved by everyone at the Giants. He leads by example, brings others with him and represents everything we want our young Giants to stand for.

The entire club is extremely proud and incredibly excited to see Jack recognised with this outstanding individual honour.

Congratulations Jack, a brilliant achievement and thoroughly deserved.

A huge thank you to everyone who has purchased a Toyota raffle ticket, donated an auction item or placed a bid on one of our auction items. Your support has been incredible!

We’re also incredibly proud to be sitting 8th in Australia for the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle!

And now… we have just $344 left to reach our $22,000 goal!
