Memorabilia Cabinets and Over 100 Years of History
Monday 13th July 2026
Kilsyth Cricket and Football Clubs now have memorabilia cabinets with lots of history on display at the main entrance to the Gary Tait Pavilion, Pinks Reserve.
Special thanks to Russell, Robert and Les Hutchings for setting up the Cricket Club’s cabinets.
Items of interest include the following:
• A sketch by Bill Dyson of the original pavilion built at the Colchester Recreation Reserve in 1927. With no photo of the original building, Bill sketched it from memory and had a professional artist colour it. After Bill’s passing, Bill’s son John Dyson donated it to the Club.
• The match ball from Kilsyth Cricket Club’s first match and first victory on the new Kilsyth Recreation Reserve at Colchester Road, played on the 2nd and 9th December 1922. The ball was presented to Captain William “Billy” Fairbank at the official opening of the Reserve on Saturday 6th January 1923 and remains one of the Club’s most treasured pieces of memorabilia.
• The original Chandler Shield awarded to Kilsyth Cricket Club permanently after the First XI won three consecutive A Grade premierships in 1932/33, 1933/34 and 1934/35 all captained by Hall of Fame Legend, William “Bill” Baldwin.
• A collection of cricket caps through the years including the specially produced Centenary Cap (1919-2019), and some centenary social shirts.
• Premiership Shields and Cups.
• Best & Fairest and Junior Club Champion Shields.
• Team of the Year Shields from the inaugural 2012/13 season onwards.
• A collection of bats including a signed bat presented to Hall of Fame Legend Roy Baldwin for his 50th season with the Cricket Club.
• A collection of stumps signed by premiership teams.
• Two Champion Club Cups awarded by the RDCA (1993/94 and 2021/22).
There is still more memorabilia the Club has including a vast collection of premiership flags and pennants (78 premierships) in a long and proud history.
