Body recomposition isn’t just about losing weight.
Looking at these photos from 2021 to 2024, the biggest difference to me isn’t just the change in body shape.
It’s the strength behind it.
At that stage, I was still in my 30s, so I was training in a way where Sundays were deadlift days only. A lot has changed since then and I have had to adjust based on my age and circumstances.
Back to the post.
When people say they want to “tone up”, what they’re usually talking about is body recomposition, losing body fat, building or maintaining muscle, and changing how their body looks and feels.
And that’s where strength training matters.
Cardio can help.
Nutrition matters.
But strength training gives your body a reason to build muscle, hold onto muscle, and become more capable.
The scales don’t always tell the full story either.
You might be getting stronger.
Your clothes might fit better.
Your waist might change.
Your posture might improve.
You might feel more confident in your body.
But the number on the scale might move slowly.
That doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
And believe it or not, in 2026, people are still fairly concerned about the number on the scales.
For most people, body recomposition doesn’t need an extreme plan.
It needs simple strength training, realistic nutrition habits, enough protein, consistency, and patience.
Again, as per my previous posts, you don’t need to train every day. Nor do you have to punish yourself.
You just need a plan that helps you get stronger over time.
Because when you build strength, you’re not just changing how your body looks.
You’re changing what your body can do.
