We are well are truely looking into our winter training with week 5 done and dusted. We were stoked to have Dan Rixon and Baxter Holt from Prime Mind Coaching Present to our Athletes last night.

Cricket isn’t just about runs and wicket, wins and losses but the journey and the friendship that are made. Dan and I played together over 20 years ago at Sutherland District Cricket Club and it was great to have him involved with our program in Newcastle helping our athletes understand how the brain works and think but also supporting them with the mental challenges that this great game brings up.

I personally took alot out of it and I’m sure our Elite Academy Athletes did aswell

We are fast approaching our 5th year in business which has been an incredible journey. Red Ink Cricket Coaching all started over a conversation with my physio, Austin Wiehahn post hip replacement. We talked cricket the whole rehab phase and Austin asked if I’d have a look at his kids that love cricket. From that first year of working with 4 kids till now having 55 kids working with us over the winter has been amazing.

So to celebrate we have had a rebranding for the upcoming season!!! Let us know your thoughts

Season 2026/27 has also seen some new sponsors join our team which we can’t thank enough to allow us to kit out athletes out. Thank you Broughton Bathrooms and Hamilton North Bowling Club

We can’t wait to kick of the winter program this week and have our athletes primed for the 2026/27 season

💯 alert x 2

Yes x2 what a weekend for our athletes! The Newcastle Junior Cricket Association resumed this Friday for the first games of 2026 and we have started with a Bang!

James Dare became our 7th athlete to reach the 3 figure milestone with his incredible innings of 129 off 71 balls with 18 fours and 4 sixes! James has had his season interrupted by injury but made up for lost time this weekend well done mate!!

The second 💯 for the weekend was scored by Isaac King who helped his team chase down 201. Isaac made an impressive 138 not out in Dev league for Charlestown District Cricket Club. What was especially pleasing was he enjoyed a 200 run partnership with one of our Academy athletes in Kaito Lang who also made 50.
Congrats Isaac you have worked very hard over the summer break and thoroughly deserved this 100.

On top of these 💯 we had some very good performances and results from our athletes representing our region in various tournaments with highlights being

Axl Williams and Nideesh phad being selected to represent country nsw in the state challnge

Elliott Bullen - 94 not out and joint player of the u15 Stan Austin tournament

Saxon Logan with a U13 reps 81 not out he also scored 59 retired on the weekend!!

Ryder Hopley was player of the tournament for the u11 Ron arents carnival

Jesse Green, Koby Walton and A***n Mehta also recieved man of the match awards in their respective tournaments

A few PBs this weekend also with A***n making his first ever 50! And Jonah Lamont his highest score of 42

I’m sure I’ve missed a few and apologies if I have I just love seeing our athletes improve and doing so well. Keep it up.

We are now chasing centurion number 9!! Who nexts guys??can’t wait to find out Red Ink Cricket Coaching

Again massive thank you for italktravel & cruise Maitland & The Junction for their ongoing support. Really appreciate it

The first week of Janaury saw some our athletes travel far and wide to represent Newcastle Junior Cricket Association in various u11s 12s and 13s competiton.

While alot of athletes shone on different days two of our athletes had standout tournaments.

Jesse Green helped his team make the plate final but he also won the carnival bowling average with an amazing average of 2.33. This included an incredible bowling display in one game where he took 5/1 inclusing a hat trick in just 10 balls!!!

Well done Jesse

Ryder Hopley a relatively new comer to Red Ink Cricket Coaching showed his potential picking up the Jim Brennan award for player of the tournament in the under 11s Ron Arendts Carnival. The award is umpire voted and Ryder picked up points in every game. He managed to score a 50 and also take a 5 wicket hall for the Junior Cricket Association.
Great week Ryder well done mate

This coming week sees our 14 players play there carnival - good luck to all involved
