Stockton Sharks Football Club is working with the relevant parties to bring a brand-new Youth Development Program to Stockton and beyong. For players aged 10–16, designed to create a stronger pathway for our young Sharks and provide more opportunities to develop, challenge themselves and take their football to the next level. ⚽️

And just like that, another season of Community Sharks football comes to an end! ❤️💙

What a season it has been across our 10 competition teams, with 6 teams making finals and 3 Sharks sides bringing home premierships! 🏆🦈

SHARKS CLUB STATEMENT

Stockton Sharks Football Club acknowledges the outcome of the recent disciplinary appeal and the subsequent six-point deduction applied to our First Grade team.

The deduction, being the result of our second disciplinary offence of the season, means that our club will finish bottom of the 2026 ZFL1 table and thus will be relegated to ZFL2 for the 2027 season.

Naturally, this is not an outcome the club wanted. We are incredibly disappointed to be leaving ZFL1, particularly given the work that has gone into establishing our ZFL program at this level.

Whilst we did appeal the decision and feel that we had solid grounds for said appeal. We respectfully accept the outcome, we also recognise that this presents an opportunity for the club to reset and rebuild.

Our focus now is on the future — rebuilding confidence, finding greater consistency, developing our players and creating an environment where our First Grade group can once again play with the confidence, pride and belief that we know they are capable of.

ZFL2 is a new chapter, not the end of the story.

We will use the 2027 season to strengthen our foundations, continue developing our pathway and build towards returning the Sharks to ZFL1 stronger and better prepared for the future.

This is not the end of ZFL at the Sharks and merely another challenge for us to face as a club. One we are confident we will bounce back bigger and stronger than ever from this setback.

We want to thank our First Grade players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and families for their commitment throughout what has been a challenging season. We know this news will be disappointing, but we also know what this club is capable of when we stick together.

The Sharks have faced challenges before, and we will face this one together.
