💙💛 A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO RON CHRISTIANSEN 💛💙
Last Sunday, UHPBC had the privilege of recognising Life Member Ron Christiansen for more than 30 years of incredible volunteer service to our club.
For over three decades, Ron has been a constant at UHPBC. Club days, major events, long weekends and everything in between — you could count on Ron being there.
Most of us know Ron from one very familiar place: behind the wheel of our rescue barge. 🚤
For more than 30 years, Ron has been out on the water looking after our drivers and helping keep our racing safe. Rain, heat, early starts and long days — Ron was there.
In fact, last weekend’s Windsor Spectacular marked something we aren’t used to seeing. For the first time in more than 30 years, Ron wasn’t out on the water volunteering.
That is an extraordinary record of dedication to our club and our sport.
People like Ron are the reason clubs like ours exist. So much of what happens on race day is only possible because of the people who quietly turn up, year after year, and give their time without expecting anything in return.
Ron, there really aren’t enough words to thank you for everything you have given to UHPBC over the years. Your commitment, reliability and contribution to the safety of generations of drivers have made you an incredibly important part of our club’s history.
More than 30 years of service. Countless race days. Countless hours on the river. One very deserving Life Member. 💙💛
