Most women over 40 don’t lack willpower.
They’re just exhausted from being told to try harder, eat less, and start over — again.
When movement is only ever about weight loss, it stops feeling empowering and starts feeling like a chore.
So I wrote a blog that asks a different question:
If you likely have another 40 years ahead of you —
how do you want to live them?
Strong? Capable? Moving well?
Or stuck in the same cycle of pushing, quitting, and blaming yourself?

𝟭𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.
When I started The Real Girls Movement, I knew women needed more.
🩵 More than 6-week challenges.
🩵 More than punishment workouts.
🩵 More than being told to “love your body” — but only if it fit a before-and-after.
🩵 More than burpees “just because”.
🩵 More than one-size-fits-all advice that ignored the realities of life after 40.
So I did things differently.
I started with one client, one car boot full of gear, and one clear mission:
🩵 To coach women over 40 in a way that actually supports their bodies and lives.
🩵 To build strength without punishment.
🩵 To create consistency without guilt.
That mission created a community.
And that community?
It’s where women rebuild confidence, strength, and belief in themselves — often after years of feeling like fitness had left them behind.
Long before midlife became a marketing trend or menopause became a hashtag, this work was already happening here — quietly, consistently, and with real women at the centre.

✨ 500 sessions for Kate ✨
Kate has been training with me since 2022, and today we celebrated a HUGE milestone — 500 sessions.
At 72, Kate is one of those women who just shows up. No fuss. No fanfare. Consistent, determined, and quietly very strong. The kind of strong that often surprises people — including those half her age.
She comes for the accountability, the mental space, and the social connection… and the strength that’s built real confidence along the way. Since joining the studio, Kate has even taken up horse riding again — because this stage of life isn’t about slowing down.
Kate, you inspire more women here than you probably realise — and 500 sessions is something to be incredibly proud of.

Today we’re celebrating a huge milestone — Elise’s 600th session 👏
600 sessions built over time.
Week after week.
Year after year.
Over three years of training.
That’s hundreds of early mornings, busy weeks, adjustments along the way — and yes… that's 600 hours hanging out with me 😉
This is what real, sustainable progress looks like.
Not quick fixes.
Not perfection.
Just continuing to show up and do the work, week after week.
