Meet Roman Romanenko!
Roman moved to Brooks, Alberta from Ukraine in March 2024. He works in the oil industry as a derrickhand on a service rig and began volunteering with The Brooks Fire Department in April 2025. Roman joined the department because he wanted to help people and be more involved in the community. One of the things he enjoys most about Brooks Fire is the high level of teamwork and the chance to challenge himself while learning new skills. Outside of work and the fire service, Roman enjoys staying active — playing soccer, riding his motorcycle, traveling, and spending time with family.
