⛳🏐 Canada West Grip It & Rip It Golf Tournament Update!

A huge thank you to our Canada West families and the many generous business supporters who have already stepped up to help make our inaugural fundraising tournament a success.

We’re excited to share that we still have room for approximately 6 more foursomes and are looking for a couple more hole sponsors as well as silent auction items.

If you’ve been thinking about putting together a team, now is the perfect time! A foursome doesn’t need to be made up of seasoned golfers —some of the best groups are a mix of volleyball dads, moms, grandparents, alumni, coaches, and friends of the club.

It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a fun day on the course while supporting Canada West athletes and programming.

We know there’s a lot of excitement surrounding Canada West and the opportunities ahead for the 2027 season 👀

However, this season isn’t over yet!

Our focus remains on the athletes and teams still competing in Nationals this weekend.

Out of respect for the players, coaches, clubs, and the integrity of competition, Canada West will not begin any signing communication or 2027 season discussions until the conclusion of the final matches on Sunday, May 31.

As reminded by Volleyball Alberta: “Please note that there can be no communication or recruiting involving signed club athletes. Signed athletes remain committed to their current clubs until the conclusion of the VA indoor club season on May 31.”

We believe it’s important to honour the athletes’ current commitments before turning our attention to the future.
Once the 2026 indoor club season officially concludes, we’ll begin sharing more information about Canada West signing opportunities, athlete pathways, and plans for the 2027 season.

There’s a lot to look forward to — but for now, let’s finish this season the right way. 🔥

Format: MIXED DOUBLES
Cash Prizes
Entry Fee: $110 per team
Venue: Rally Pointe 11511 35 Street SE, Calgary, AB

Join us for a day of high-energy rallies and community spirit! Whether you are here for the competitive fire or the “Kitchen Party” in the lounge, The Golden Pickle is a premier mixed-doubles showdown. (The lounge will be open all day!)

Choose Your Division

The Social Bracket (Skill Level 2.0–3.5) 16 Teams

9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Best For: Recreational and Intermediate players who love a good rally and a great atmosphere.

The Format: Large-scale pool play, followed by a split-bracket playoff. Prizes awarded for both “The Golden Pickle” (Top 8) and “The Silver Gherkin” (Bottom 8) winners.

The Competitive Bracket (Skill Level 3.5+) 12 Teams

1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Best For: Advanced Players looking for fast-paced, tactical matches and high-intensity competition.

The Format: A streamlined Round Robin designed for maximum play, culminating in a high-stakes “Final Four” playoff.

The Goal: There is only one Golden Pickle Championship trophy for this tier—bring your A-game.
