🧵❤️ Dentallium Workshop Update! ❤️🧵

Oki and good afternoon! A big thank you to everyone who joined us for last week’s dentallium workshop! We loved seeing everyone get creative and complete their projects. 🥰

To those who joined us last week, today will be our last class for October as SN7/ Recreation will be busy with our upcoming Halloween Howler! 🎃👻

With the necklaces out of the way we will now be moving onto earrings 🩷🌸

To those still wanting to join, do not fret.
Because with the great response we’ve had this month, we are hoping to continue offering workshops in November
So even more youth and their parents or guardians can join us! These workshops are a great opportunity to learn traditional arts and skills together, share knowledge, and spend time creating.

Thank you all for your support and interest! Keep an eye on our page for November’s workshop dates. We look forward to beading with you again! ❤️🪡

DENTALLIUM BEADING IS BACK!

Oki Siksika! By popular demand, we’re bringing Dentallium Beading back for our second year of fun, beginner-friendly beading workshops!

Dentallium is worn throughout powwow country and is a beautiful, sought after style of beadwork. Since these pieces can be expensive to purchase, this is a chance for youth to learn how to make their own pieces for themselves or someone they love.

Each project is designed to be quick and fun
with one finished piece, per class! 🧵✨

This year, we’re switching things up! And we’ll be listening to an audiobook while we bead. It’s a great way to keep our young beaders engaged with their projects while enjoying a good story together.
Something that connects with our longstanding tradition of sharing knowledge through storytelling.

This Month’s Audiobook Selection:
Sunrise on the Reaping by Suzanne Collins

Next week: Dentallium earrings to match our necklaces!

📅 Every Wednesday in October
🕔 5:00–8:00 PM
📍 Siksika Deerfoot Sportsplex (Arena side, lower board room)
👥Ages 9+
🧵 8 participants per session

Spots are limited to 8 per session. Please only reserve a spot if you’re able to attend, so we can make room for other youth who want to participate .
