Perhaps when you get a moment to slow down, take a deeper inhale and enjoy the sweetness of a smooth unhurried exhale, you can take it. Not because you are not cut out for hard work and the push of effort or because you don't deserve time to rest and enjoy. Not because you haven't earned someone else's idea of success yet. You can slow down because you can slow down. No need to explain it, excuse it or relate it to how hard you have worked for it.
Between your effort and your ease are all the things you want and dream about, the safe place for imagination and letting your mind wander to what would be possible if? The middle ground, helps you find what truly draws you into your heart and out of your head. It is the potential, the fertile and rich soil in which everything can be planted.
Perhaps your inbetween is finding that you can have both, without sacrificing either. Listen to the calls of desire without dampening your ability to discern something's path to you, and you to it. Lean into fewer of life's "shoulds" and even fewer of it's "have tos". Trust that the space between light and dark is not empty of either but where you blend together and find permission to let yourself explore and expand.
Just as you collect memories, seashells, love, and even scars of grief, you can also collect the spaces where things don't feel so hard. Hold them dear to your heart, and offer up patience and acceptance in return. An intricate balance, a slow dance, and heaps of grace.
