Cricket has been part of Galt’s sporting heritage for more than a century—bringing generations, families and volunteers together.

As our club continues to grow, especially among youth and families, we appreciate your recognition of the vital role sport plays in building connection, belonging and community cohesion.

The cricketing world mourns the passing of one of the game's greatest legends, Sir Garfield Sobers, the iconic West Indies captain, who has passed away just ten days before what would have been his 90th birthday.

Sir Garfield's extraordinary career, spanning from 1954 to 1974, redefined cricketing excellence. Among his countless achievements, he will forever be remembered as the first cricketer to hit six sixes in a single over—a feat that remains one of the sport's most iconic moments.

In 93 Test matches, Sir Garfield amassed 8,032 runs and claimed 235 wickets, showcasing his remarkable all-round brilliance and leaving a legacy that has inspired generations of cricketers around the world.

His contributions to the game will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire future generations.

An important step forward for the Cambridge Cricket Club was made during a recent meeting with Ontario's Minister of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, Graham McGregor, Minister of Sport, Neil Lumsden, Cambridge MPP Brian Riddell, Mayor Jan Liggett, City staff, and community leaders to discuss the future of cricket in our city. 🤝🏛️

Together, we shared the incredible growth of our sport and the need for more accessible cricket facilities, additional pitches, suitable land, and safety enhancements so everyone can enjoy the game. These conversations are about creating opportunities for children, families, newcomers, and long-time residents alike to participate in one of the world's fastest-growing sports. 🌍👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🏏

We believe the solution is collaboration. By working together with all levels of government, the City of Cambridge, and our community partners, we can build a future where more people have the chance to play, learn, and belong through cricket. 🤝💪

Two of the world's finest cricketers stepped up to face a challenge unlike anything seen before!

🇬🇧 Ben Stokes and 🇮🇳 KL Rahul joined forces for Red Bull's Impossible Batting Challenge, pushing their skills to the absolute limit ahead of the International Test Series.

Before teaming up, each star conquered a series of individual batting trials designed to test accuracy, timing, and control. Then comes the real challenge: an escape-room-style gauntlet of bowling machines delivering relentless deliveries from every angle!
