๐ 175 YEARS OF CRICKET HISTORY IN CAMBRIDGE! ๐จ๐ฆ
What an incredible and historic weekend for Cambridge Cricket Club!
As we celebrate 175 years of cricket in Cambridge, 125 years of cricket at Victoria Park, and 50 years of friendship between Cambridge and Boston, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible community that continues to support our Club and our game.
โค๏ธ Thank you, Cambridge!
To our players, past and present, families, volunteers, members, supporters and sponsors โ thank you for being part of this remarkable journey. Your dedication and passion have helped carry the Clubโs legacy through generations.
A very special thank you to the Galt community and the residents who have embraced cricket at Victoria Park for generations. This history belongs to you, too. Victoria Park has been home to countless matches, friendships, celebrations and memories, and we are proud to continue that tradition.
We were honoured to welcome Mayor Jan Liggett, Connie Cody MP, MPP Brian Riddell, City Councillors, School Board Trustees and representatives from all levels of government as they joined us to recognize cricketโs important place in Cambridgeโs sporting and community heritage. Thank you for taking the time to celebrate this milestone with us and for your continued support of our Club and our community.
๐จWe were proud to have Prakash Venkataraman as our Master of Ceremonies and key supporter this year as we worked towards ensuring cricket is played at Victoria Park for generations to come.
A particularly special moment was the presentation by longtime member Godfrey Fearn of a beautifully framed painting of the historic Victoria Park clubhouse โ a meaningful tribute to our Clubโs past and the generations who have helped build its story.
๐จ๐ฆ๐ค๐บ๐ธ We were also proud to continue our 50-year cricket friendship with Boston. Thank you to our friends from Melbourne Sports & Cultural Club for travelling from Boston to Cambridge and helping us celebrate this wonderful tradition of sport, friendship and community across borders.
And congratulations to our Cambridge Cricket Club team on the victory! ๐๐
175 years of Cambridge Cricket Club.
125 years at Victoria Park.
50 years of CambridgeโBoston cricket friendship.
Three incredible milestones. One extraordinary legacy.
๐ธ๐ฅ A heartfelt thank you to Tara Ramphal Chapman and Marisa Phillips for capturing the weekend through photographs and video, helping preserve these special memories for generations to come.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, played, organized, cheered, donated, supported and celebrated alongside us.
This milestone is more than a celebration of cricket.
It is a celebration of community.
It is a celebration of history.
It is a celebration of friendship.
And it is a celebration of the future of cricket in Cambridge.
๐ History celebrated. Legacy honoured. Friendship strengthened. Future inspired.
Thank you, Cambridge, for 175 incredible years โ and hereโs to the next chapter! ๐จ๐ฆ
