Great chance to check out the new trails built by PEI Gravity Syndicate!

Big News!!
PEI Gravity Syndicate will be hosting a trail preview of the new Brookvale Gravity Trails tomorrow (Wednesday, September 30th) in advance of our Terminator Enduro this weekend.
This is your chance to check out and ride these newly constructed trails and get some practice runs in before the race. These trails are normally closed to the public so don't miss the change to come out and see what all the excitement is all about.
Access will be via pedal power. All participants will need to sign a CPEI waiver. Protective equipment such as full face helmets, long sleeve shirts and knee/elbow pads are recommended. These trails are for experienced riders, but include b lines around the more difficult features.
Trails will be open from 2pm to 4pm. We will be set up at the bottom of the hill with trail info and waivers.
Hope to see you there!

🚲 Safety First: Share the Road! 🚗

As the days get shorter and fall riding season continues, remember that cyclists and motorists all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe.

For drivers:
Give cyclists plenty of space when passing.
Check carefully for cyclists before turning or changing lanes.
Slow down and be patient, especially on narrow or busy roads.

For cyclists:
Ride predictably and follow the rules of the road.
Signal your turns and make eye contact when possible.
Use lights and reflective gear as daylight hours get shorter.
Wear your helmet on every ride.

A little patience and awareness goes a long way.
Let’s keep PEI’s roads safe and welcoming for everyone!

Concussion Awareness Week

A concussion can happen to anyone, including cyclists. Whether you’re riding on the road, trails, or at the bike park, knowing the signs and taking action matters.

Know the signs: headache, dizziness, confusion, nausea, balance problems, sensitivity to light or noise, or feeling “not quite right.”

Suspect a concussion?
• Stop riding immediately
• Tell a coach, parent, or another adult
• Don’t return to activity until properly assessed
• Follow a gradual return-to-activity plan

When in doubt, sit it out. Your health is more important than finishing the ride or race.

🚲 Best Fall Rides on PEI 🍂

There’s something pretty special about riding PEI in the fall, cooler temperatures, quieter trails, and those beautiful fall colours. 🍁

Here are a few rides to put on your fall cycling list:

Morell → St. Peters Bay
One of our favourites for fall! This section of the Confederation Trail follows St. Peters Bay and offers beautiful coastal and woodland scenery. The Morell–Elmira section is 54 km if you're looking for a longer adventure.

Hunter River & Central PEI
Start around Colville Road and ride toward Hunter River and beyond. Expect farmland, forests, bridges and classic PEI countryside.

Gulf Shore Way – PEI National Park
Take in the North Shore without the summer crowds. The paved Gulf Shore Way East runs between the Brackley and Dalvay areas and makes for a beautiful coastal ride.

Greenwich & St. Peter’s Bay
Looking for a shorter, scenic adventure? The trails around Greenwich offer a mix of forest, dunes and coastal views, perfect for a leisurely fall outing.

Charlottetown → Mt. Stewart
For a longer road/trail adventure, try the 68 km Charlottetown–Mt. Stewart loop. It combines the Confederation Trail with quiet paved roads, farmland and river views.

Pick a section of the Confederation Trail and explore!
You don't have to ride the whole thing. With hundreds of kilometres of trail and numerous access points, you can choose a distance that works for you and turn around whenever you're ready.

Where is your favourite place to ride when the leaves start changing? 🍁👇

Cycling PEI is pleased to support the Week Without Driving campaign October 1-8, which encourages people to challenge themselves to use other ways of getting around for one week. This simple exercise may help you discover other, useful and enjoyable forms of transportation (like cycling!) that you want to incorporate more of into your life, and it may also help you become more aware of the improvements needed to our public transit and active transportation infrastructure to make alternatives to driving more viable for more people, and to help all those who currently rely on those methods of transportation.

Please see the information below about a couple of upcoming info sessions!

Week Without Driving PEI is about stepping into the shoes of non-drivers — especially older adults, youth, low-income individuals, students, newcomers, and people with physical, mental or developmental disabilities.

The aim is to engage in all your daily activities without driving yourself, using any other form of transportation.

Whether you're a driver or a non-driver, learn how you can share your experiences during the week of October 1 to 8.

Our teams had an amazing season of training and racing with many of the athletes seeing their best results EVER this year! Their hard work has certainly paid off.

We want to start by thanking all of our sponsors for their continued support of our cycling team. With your support, we re-designed the team kits this season and have outfitted each of the athletes with amazing new racing gear. We have certainly made our mark on the local racing scene! We also branded our new team trailer to match the kits; this trailer was invaluable for our 2026 racing success.

HP hosted 2 successful athlete training camps in 2026. The first camp was for the Provincial Team in Wentworth, NS which involved a LOT of technical riding, skills training, team building exercises, and race prep habits. The second camp was on PEI with both Provincial & Development teams. This camp featured a session on nutrition, some team building exercises, and a tough training ride in the mud (followed by a bike cleaning session!)

The Provincial Team travelled out of the Maritimes for the first time ever - travelling to the Canada Cup races in Baie St Paul, Quebec. This experience was of huge value to gain UCI points, as well as lots of experience as athletes/coaches. We hope to repeat this again next year and hopefully add a few more stops along the way. The athletes travelled individually to more out-of-province races this year as well.

Each of the athletes has put an incredible amount of work and heart into the season. We also want to acknowledge the amazing support of the families as you drive your athlete to races, early morning training rides, riding with us in all conditions, and stepping up to help when needed. We appreciate your dedication to the team and look forward to next season - bigger and better

Let’s go, ride hard!
