Exercise and training aren’t quite the same thing.
Exercise is movement for health, fitness, and enjoyment.
Training is movement with a specific goal in mind.
Neither is better than the other, but understanding the difference can help you make more intentional decisions about your workouts and where you’re investing your time and energy.
Most people don’t need to do more.
They often need more direction.

What can you actually learn from an assessment?
A good assessment should do more than just point out limitations.
It should help you understand:
▪ where your body is compensating
▪ what may be contributing to recurring aches or stiffness
▪ whether your strength and mobility are balanced
▪ how your movement quality may be affecting performance
▪ and what areas are most important to focus on in your training
Often people know something feels off, but they’re not sure why.
An assessment helps give context and direction, so your training becomes more intentional instead of just guessing your way through it.
That’s exactly why we created the Training Clarity Assessment.

35-minute coached workout
15-minute transition
35-minute learning session
This session’s presenter:
Kristin Bignell — Owner & Registered Physiotherapist, East Mill Physio
Kristin will be speaking on how neurofunctional factors influence pain and performance, and how to recognize when something is not purely structural. She’ll also walk through how to screen for these contributors and apply your findings in a way clients understand.
If you value a more thoughtful approach to training and care, and want to connect with others who approach their work in a similar way, this is a strong environment to be part of.
This is a small group by design, so once spots are filled, registration will close.
If you’ve been considering it, now is the time to secure your spot.

"As a woman in my mid-50s, I knew strength training mattered, but staying consistent was a challenge, especially with a long-standing hip issue.
Since working with Steve, I have become significantly stronger, my energy levels are up, and my hip pain has greatly reduced. Steve takes the time to understand your goals and any problem areas, then builds training around what you actually need.
I now look forward to my workouts each week, and I am genuinely disappointed when I miss one. If you are considering personal training, I cannot recommend Steve and Athlete Within enough." - Margaret
Strength training is not about where you start.
It is about having the right plan and the right coach.
