🚨 New Tiger Alert 🚨
Dalhousie Tigers men's basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Jeremiah Francis for the 2026-27 season.
A 6'2" shooting guard from Surrey, British Columbia, Francis joins the Tigers after three seasons with McMaster University. A skilled scorer and perimeter threat, he averaged 11.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, bringing versatility, experience and offensive firepower to Dalhousie's backcourt.
Before beginning his university career, Francis starred at Holy Cross Regional High School, where he was named team MVP in both Grade 11 and Grade 12. He also represented Team BC at the Canadian Basketball Championships, leading the tournament with 20 three-pointers in four games to earn recognition as Canada's top shooter. He capped off his high school career as Holy Cross Regional High School's Athlete of the Year.
Off the court, Francis earned Gold Honour Roll recognition throughout high school and will study Management at Dalhousie.
"The Tigers are very pleased to announce the commitment of Jeremiah to the program," says Plato. "Although Jeremiah will redshirt this season, he brings tremendous skill, a positive attitude and great energy. An excellent three-point shooter, solid defender and dynamic scorer in transition, he'll spend this year learning the Tiger Way while pushing his teammates every day in practice. He'll be a terrific addition this season, and his true impact will be seen next year."
"I am excited for the opportunity to join the Tigers and compete at the next level while representing Dalhousie," says Francis. "I can't wait to meet my teammates, learn from the coaching staff and contribute in any way I can. I'm looking forward to growing as both a player and a person throughout my time at Dal."

🚨 New Tiger Alert 🚨
Dalhousie Tigers men's basketball head coach Rick Plato is pleased to announce the commitment of Ben Salkauskas for the 2026-27 season.
A 6'2" guard from Calgary, Alberta, Salkauskas joins the Tigers following two standout seasons at Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, Michigan. During the 2025-26 campaign, he averaged 13.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting an efficient 44.2 percent from the field, 42.0 percent from three-point range and 74.3 percent from the free throw line.
His outstanding sophomore season earned him NJCAA Region 13 First Team All-Region honours and Gogebic Community College Team MVP recognition. Known for his ability to score at all three levels while creating opportunities for his teammates, Salkauskas brings a combination of skill, efficiency and experience to the Tigers backcourt.
Off the court, Salkauskas has demonstrated the same commitment to excellence in the classroom. He was named an NJCAA Academic All-American, earned Dean's List honours and graduated with High Honours. He will pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Dalhousie.
"I'm very excited to come to Dalhousie and contribute to a great program in its path towards winning championships!" says Salkauskas.
Salkauskas chose Dalhousie because of the opportunity to continue developing both as a player and as a person under Coach Plato while pursuing his goals of competing for championships and playing professional basketball. His versatility, shooting ability and leadership will make him a valuable addition to the Tigers as they prepare for the 2026-27 season.
