Dalhousie Athletics & Recreation is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Greenwood as Head Coach of the Dalhousie Tigers men’s hockey program.

Jon Greenwood brings a decade of high-performance coaching experience to the Tigers, joining Dalhousie after leading the Truro Bearcats to a Maritime Junior A championship and a 14-point turnaround in two seasons.

His background includes time with Saint Mary’s (U SPORTS) and seven seasons with the Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL), along with national and regional coaching roles.

“I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished in Truro, especially winning a Maritime Junior A championship with a group that bought into the process every day,” said Greenwood. “The opportunity to join Dalhousie and lead a U SPORTS program is something I’m very excited about. With the recent opening of the Oulton-Stanish Centre, a strong nucleus of returning players, and a clear commitment to excellence, I’m looking forward to building something special with the Tigers.”

Greenwood will assume leadership of the Dalhousie men’s hockey program on May 15 and begin preparations for the 2026–27 U SPORTS season.

Balancing Books, Basketball, and Engineering on and off the Court.

Engineering is a challenge. varsity basketball is demanding. Doing both at once means learning very quickly how to manage time, expectations, pressure and life. Just ask Jayden Parker, Osazemhinde Oseghale, Samuel Olugu, Isaiah Graham-Roache and Cedric Sanogo, five current and former Dalhousie varsity basketball players who are proving that the impossible is very possible.

A special thank you to Ajith Rai for his support of the Oulton-Stanish Centre!

Ajith, who recently supported the project by purchasing a section of seats, joined us for a tour recently, alongside Dr. Uday Venkatadri, Professor and Head of Industrial Engineering at Dalhousie.

The two first met at Dal in the 1980s—making this visit a full-circle moment back on campus.
Ajith’s longstanding generosity continues to make a meaningful impact, including support of the Eldon Gunn Memorial Scholarship (2016) and the Peter Wilson Memorial Scholarship (2012, 2013, 2015).

We’re grateful for your continued support of Dalhousie Athletics and the broader Dal community!
