🇨🇦 Happy Canada Day from the Kingston Dragon Boat Club! 🐉

Today we’re celebrating the people, communities, and waterways that bring us together.

Whether you are spending the day on the water, enjoying a BBQ with family and friends, or taking in the fireworks tonight, we hope you have a safe and memorable Canada Day.

At KDBC, we’re proud to be part of a sport built on teamwork, timing, trust, and community. Every time we launch from the dock, we get to share that spirit on the water.

Here’s to a great summer of paddling, new friendships, personal bests, and many more unforgettable moments on the water.

Mother Nature kept us guessing this past week, but once Dragons' paddles hit the water it was smooth sailing through our beautiful playground.

An incredible day for KDBC at the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival!

Our Mixed crew had an outstanding day on the water, racing strong through every round and bringing home gold. It was a proud moment for the club and a great reflection of the hard work, commitment, and teamwork shown by the crew.

The festival also marked another important milestone for KDBC: our first Women’s crew. Across the day, the crew showed clear improvement, growing confidence, and strong teamwork with each race. They represented the club with pride and showed how much potential we have as our paddling community continues to grow.

Overall, Peterborough was a great reminder of how much KDBC is developing - in competitiveness, team spirit, and opportunities for paddlers. Congratulations to everyone who raced, coached, supported, and helped make the day possible.

KDBC, this season is looking (Paddles) Up!!!

What a busy couple of weeks we've had! Our season is truly under way, and we hit the ground running... or hit the water paddling 🤔
We've welcomed new dragons, introduced a revamped training plan, registered two boat crews for our first festival of the season, started training for said festival, had pub socials, got some boat repairs done, and if all that wasn't enough... we hosted an official steering course. All the while (well, except for the pub socials 😉) re-acquainting ourselves with the magnificent scenery of our training area. Looking forward to a fabulous season!

And we're off!
Three boats full of dragons headed out for the first official Kingston Dragon Boat Club session of the 2026 season! Woo-hoo!
Mother Nature provided a perfect evening for paddling and we certainly made the most of it.
With a wonderful mix of returning and new members, we're very excited about the upcoming season. Great times ahead!
