Queens Sailing on fire at McGill 🔥🏆

After a tight weekend of racing, QST nailed down the win in MTL. Rookie team Adam Girling and Graydon Tregunno sealed the deal with an outstanding performance for the new pair.

Prince Edward Yacht Club - PEYC held their annual Cups and Trophies evening yesterday, October 24th. Sue races regularly on Oh! (Olson 30), and both Ali and Bob fill in on weekend events.

PEYC has a great PHRF racing turnout for a small club.

We often bring sails to the loft for repair after racing or to be measured for new ones. It was so nice to hear from one customer they felt their new KSL Genoa had a lot to do with the boat's success.

Happy customers is why we run Kingston Sail Loft.
Thank you for a great season PEYC!!

Please come and pick up your sails!

If we phoned or texted you telling you your sail is ready to pick up, please come and get it. We have a lot of sails coming in, and need the space on the end of our table

A quick look at the 505 mainsail after we added 10mm of luff curve at 3/4 height.
We had a short window before sunset yesterday evening (October 19), to go sailing.
This was in light air, sitting on the seat tanks and leaning out in a puff.

We liked the shape change in the main!

The beautiful sunset was a bonus.

A new Olson 30 PHRF spinnaker being checked over before we phone the customer. It looks fantastic to us, and we are looking forward to seeing it flying next spring.

We can do graphics on spinnakers and upwind sails.

Another tweak to the KSL 505 main:

After sailing and racing with the second generation 505 designs since July (and winning some races) we’re trying a small “tweak” to the mainsail. We’re adding 10mm of luff curve near the top of the sail after our designer and Ali looked at the Selden Alto mast in the 505, and went through the range of bend.
We want to control the upper leech (twist) with somewhat smaller vang/kicker adjustments.

We also increased the upper window area to make it easier to see the upper leech of the jib, and the jib leech telltale.

We hope to test this tweak this weekend!

Our autumn discount period is ending soon. Recent quotes sent out reflected that discount. We need to confirm sail measurements and details, and have the deposit in hand, by the end of October to provide you the sail at the discounted price.
