Good afternoon everyone!!

Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy athlete, 16 yr old Brooklyn Kaufman is currently in Dublin Ireland where she will be participating in the 2026 Monkstown Cup!

The 12th annual Monkstown International Box Cup serves as Europe's premier open-class amateur boxing tournament for underage, schoolboys/girls, juniors, youths, and under-19s.

There will be 178 boxing clubs from 10 different countries taking part in the 2026 event. Brooklyn is the only Canadian competing.

We arrived on Wednesday and immediately attended our friends at Baldoyle Boxing Club. Brooklyn was able to train with Layla Kelly and Maicy Field. Maicy is the current European silver medallist and just returned with a gold medal at the four nations cup… I was honoured to present Maicy with her banner which will be proudly be displayed in their gym.

Today, we attended the venue to watch the “Skills” bouts (exhibitions) and athletes, both male and female as young as 6 yrs old. Brooklyn met Pierce “Bang Bang” O’Leary, the current IBO super Champion of the world.

Brooklyn will see competition tomorrow… Friday July 3, Ring B, Bout #7, Blue corner… Brooklyn will face Bernadette Delaney of the Tipperary Town Boxing Club of Ireland.

Brooklyn will be boxing in a few hours so I wanted to send update for those planning on watching the live feed

15-yr old Plattsville native Brooklyn Kaufman of Waterloo Regional Boxing Academy is currently participating at the 75th Gergerly Bornemissza Boxing Tournament in Eger Hungary.

Brooklyn, the current U17 Canadian National Champion will be facing Mira Nagy-Papasz of Hungary today, this afternoon Bout #2, Ring #2 in the Blue corner.

Again, there is only one session per day and that starts at 1 pm locally, or 7am Ontario Time
