🎿 TYEE SILENT AUCTION IS OFFICIALLY ON! 🎿

The season is underway, and it’s time to start building this year’s Tyee Silent Auction!

We’re asking every Tyee family to help secure a donation valued at $75 or more.

Think gift certificates, products, services, experiences or something completely unique. Ask a local business, reach out to a friend or family member, or tap into your personal connections. You never know what someone might be willing to contribute!

Last year, our community came together in a big way. Let’s do it again and raise even more to support our athletes, coaches and Club.

Welcome to the Board, Ian

Please join us in welcoming Ian to the Tyee Board of Directors as Secretary!

Ian's connection to Tyee runs deep. His son, Hudson, is entering his fifth year with the club and second year of U14, and the family ties go back generations: Ian's wife, Stephanie, and her brother both raced with Tyee, and their parents served on the club's Board before them. Skiing is in Ian's blood too, with roots tracing back to Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, where his dad worked as a ski instructor.

As Hudson has progressed through the program, Ian has become a familiar face around the club, including volunteering as a team chaperone. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in operations, customer experience, product and business transformation, along with deep non-profit board experience from his time in Chair roles with the VSOCC Board and his current role as Treasurer of the Roundhouse Arts & Recreation Society Board.

"I'm excited to continue my family's Tyee journey and put my experience to work for the Board, supporting the athletes, coaches, volunteers and families who make this club such a special community."

⛷️ WELCOME, DAN!

We’re excited to officially introduce Dan as our new Tyee U14 Head Coach for the 2026/27 season.

This will be Dan’s third year with Tyee and his second working with our U14 athletes, so he already knows the program, the athletes and what makes this club special. Before coaching, Dan raced at the highest level of NCAA alpine skiing with Plymouth State University, after growing up racing with Nakiska Alpine Ski Association in Calgary from U8 through his third year of FIS.

For Dan, coaching is about much more than results. He loves watching athletes learn, take on challenges and see their skills develop throughout the season. His goal this year is to build a strong, supportive and resilient team atmosphere, while helping our athletes develop a genuine love for both ski racing and skiing itself.

And when he’s not coaching? Dan likes to ski fast, catch air, ride his mountain bike and apparently read Middle English. He’s also a fan of Kicking Horse, spring slush skiing and peanut-butter-and-banana wraps.
We’re thrilled to have Dan leading our U14 group and can’t wait to see what this team gets up to this season.
