Bongo Dave...in memory, of who passed in September 2009...I and some others are privileged to have known him, his quiet drumming, his soft drawl and warm smile..Dave was the first recipient of a Lumpy Bikes donor bike. It would have been in the fall of 08..Our daughter Christine spotted this be**er stashed in the bushes in the at the time new Brinton Carpet subdvision. Well, that night I went and grabbed it out of them bushes, took it home, next morning gave it a quick Tune Up, pumped some air in the tires, threw it in the vehicle at the time, a green Ford Ranger pickup bought at Old John Tinneys Motors in Millbrook from his son Richard. There was Dave on that damp fall morning panning on his bench located at George and Brock Street. He looked up and smiled, he never did say much less you prodded him, he was shy in an awkward way I suppose. His fingers were the colour of smoked to***co, his eyes sparkled and he smiled as i gave him that bike....Bongo Dave

Finished working on a70s CCM Corsa this morning that had been donated over a month ago by a nice lady and her son that live in the apartment at Princess and George, her name may be Roberta., had to replace a spoke in the rear wheel, afterwards the wheel took shape and ran clear enough through the brake pads. All in all it was a nice enough bike to send to market but my Karma needed a boost and donating a bike usually does the trick! At Trinity the crowds were small, spread out, but lots of personal items, stacked here and there. Todys recipint Zane was very grateful and stated "I ran a chop shop at the Old Youths Prison Encampment in Cobourg till they closed it down" . A sun more like a July Sun fired rays over all but my little round brimmed Filson cap protected me...

We Build Bikes from Scratch..Man brought this to me, I almost cried it was so rough. But I could see the bones were good beneath the grease, the dirt the worn off paint...i talked the owner into getting the bike Powder Coated while i worked on rehabilitating the mechanicals! Glad to say I am over half way done and the owner is very pleased with the work...thanks to those who referred him to Lumpy Bikes..
