Douglas “Doug” Smail is set to be inducted into the Ted Knight Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame at the 2026 Induction Dinner in Moose Jaw.

Inductee Highlights:
🟩 SJHL standout - won league MVP and scoring title with Moose Jaw Canucks.
🟩 College hockey champion - NCAA Division 1 title and tournament MVP.
🟩 Professional career - 13 seasons and nearly 900 games in the NHL.
🟩 NHL record holder – tied for fastest goal from the start of a game (Winnipeg Jets).

The Hall of Fame is debuting a new feature called Behind The Artifact! Wendel Clark joins SSHF curator Robyn Jensen for this episode of Behind the Artifact, where we discuss the history of artifacts donated to the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame. Clark was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 after 15 seasons in the National Hockey League. In this video, Wendel discusses his time in minor hockey represented by his team jackets from his hometown Kelvington Bantam team, the Yorkton Terriers’ Bantam AAA team, and the Notre Dame Hounds Midget team.
