💙 Returning Coach Spotlight: Merissa 💙

We are so excited to welcome Merissa back to the Port City Elite coaching staff for Season 6!

Merissa has been part of the cheerleading world since 2011, first as an athlete competing at levels 1–4 and later as a coach beginning in 2016. With experience coaching tiny, mini, youth, junior, and recreational teams, she has developed a special love for working with our youngest athletes.

Off the mats, Merissa holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and works as a preschool teacher. Combined with her experience as a full-time mom, she brings patience, understanding, and a fun-loving approach to every practice.

Merissa loves helping young athletes build confidence, learn new skills, and discover a love for cheerleading. She finds so much joy in watching children grow—from balancing on one foot to mastering their first cartwheel—and celebrating every milestone along the way.

Her goal is simple: to make cheerleading fun, accessible, and exciting while helping little athletes develop the fundamentals that will set them up for future success.

We’re so lucky to have Merissa back for another season! ⚓️🌊

We’re excited to introduce a brand new Strength Class for our athletes this season at Port City Elite! 💪⚓️

Rebecca has been a personal trainer for the last 12 years, training people of all ages and abilities. She has specializations in Youth Exercise & Functional Mobility. With her background as a competitive dancer, she has a special passion for helping young athletes learn how focused strength training & proper mobility work can help increase their performance, enhance their sport specific skills, and prevent injury. In this class, we will learn & practice proper form for the foundational exercises that will most benefit the two things cheerleaders need most: power & control.
