Today we celebrate Ashlee Hunter, one of our PreCanSkate / CanSkate Coaches here at the Saint John Skating Club. ⛸️

With a lifelong connection to the Saint John Skating Club, Ashlee brings years of skating experience to the ice. A seven-time Provincial Champion and former Program Assistant with SJSC, Ashlee returned to the club as a coach in 2025 and is passionate about helping young skaters build confidence, discover their love of skating, and feel supported as they take those first steps on the ice.

Her warmth, encouragement, and dedication to helping skaters grow make her a wonderful addition to our coaching team. We are so grateful to have Ashlee back at the club where her own skating journey began, cheering on the next generation of skaters!

Today we celebrate Jillian Lee, one of our CanSkate & StarSkate Coaches here at the Saint John Skating Club. ⛸️

With a lifetime of skating experience, including seven years performing professionally with Disney On Ice, Jillian brings passion, creativity, and a love of performance to everything she does. Since joining SJSC in 2025, she has begun her coaching journey and recently completed her Regional Coach training as she continues to grow her experience with CanSkate and STAR 1-5 skaters.

Her love of skating and commitment to helping young skaters grow make her a wonderful addition to our coaching team. We are so grateful to have Jillian sharing her experience and passion for the sport with our skaters! 💙❄️

Today we celebrate Kim MacVey, one of our Recreational & Competitive Coaches at the Saint John Skating Club.

Kim has been coaching for over 40 years, bringing unmatched experience, knowledge, and passion to our club. From being Atlantic Canada’s first-ever triple Gold Medalist as a skater to earning two Skate Canada National Awards of Excellence as a coach, Kim’s legacy runs deep. She is known for her patience, approachability, and ability to inspire skaters of all ages.

Her dedication has shaped generations of athletes in Saint John—including her daughter, Kaitie, who now serves as our Head Coach. Together, they represent both the history and the future of the club. 💙❄️

Today we celebrate Brianna Corkum, one of our CanSkate & StarSkate Coaches at the Saint John Skating Club.

Brianna began skating at age 6 and has been sharing her love for the sport with our club since 2015. She is a Certified CanSkate, Regional, and PowerSkate Coach, and is known for her patience, dedication, and ability to make every skater feel supported. Whether teaching a beginner their first steps on the ice or guiding athletes in StarSkate, Brianna creates an encouraging environment where skaters can thrive.

Her passion for the sport and commitment to her skaters shines through every time she steps on the ice. 💙❄️

⛸️ REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🎉

Registration for all of our 2026–2027 skating programs is now open to everyone!

Every skater starts somewhere, and every skater has room to grow, a next step to take, and a reason to love the ice.

Whether your skater is new to skating, building confidence and developing skills at any age, working toward their next skating milestone, pursuing figure skating, or developing speed, control, and agility for hockey or ringette, our programs are designed to help them grow and enjoy the journey.

There’s something for everyone at Saint John Skating Club. ❤️

Our programs include:

✨ PreCanSkate — for young skaters taking their first steps on the ice
⛸️ CanSkate — learn the fundamentals, build confidence, and have fun
🌟 Advanced CanSkate — continue developing skating skills and technique
❄️ Adult & Teen Skate — enjoy learning, improving, and spending time on the ice
💫 StarSkate — continue your skating journey through figure skating
🏒 PowerSkate — develop skating skills, speed, agility, and power for hockey and ringette

We offer programs for all ages and skill levels, with options to skate up to three days per week at arenas on both the East and West sides of Saint John.

Register by September 30th to receive 5% off!

Spaces are limited, so we encourage you to register soon. If your preferred program is full, please be sure to add your skater’s name to the waitlist. As spaces become available throughout the season, we’ll do our best to move as many skaters as possible from waitlists into active programs.

With over 20 years of coaching experience and a lifelong connection to SJSC, Kaitie brings passion, creativity, and a deep family legacy in skating to everything she does. She’s not only a dedicated coach but also a section-level Technical Specialist for synchronized skating, a mentor to athletes of all ages, and a leader in the development of Skate Canada’s CanSkate program nationwide.

Her energy, innovative teaching, and commitment to her skaters have left a lasting impact—both on and off the ice. We are so grateful to have her leading our team! 💙❄️
