We’re so excited to welcome Emily Dove to our July Workshop faculty! 🤍

Emily is a former elite competitive dancer with over 18 years of training and performance experience in a wide variety of styles, including jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, tap, ballet, modern, Broadway, acro, tumbling, partnering, and professional cheer dance.

Her impressive performance background includes competing with the Wilfrid Laurier Competitive Dance Team, performing professionally with Bringing Tap Back under the direction of Everett Smith, and dancing with both the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Dance & Cheer Team and the Toronto Rock Dance Team.

Known for her versatility, strong performance quality, technical foundation, and infectious energy, Emily brings passion and professionalism to every opportunity both on and off the stage.

We can’t wait for our dancers to learn from her this July! 💫

✨ Meet Keanna! ✨

We’re so excited to introduce the next instructor joining us for our July Summer Workshop—our incredible Pilates instructor who will be bringing the energy, movement, and motivation to start every camp day strong! 💪🩰

With a background in kinesiology from Lakehead University, Keanna has always been passionate about the human body, movement, and overall wellness. She is also a recent graduate and now works as an X-ray technologist in both the hospital and clinic setting, while continuing to teach Pilates on the side—all while combining her knowledge of anatomy and movement with her love for fitness and teaching.

Known for her high-energy teaching style and carefully curated playlists, Keanna creates classes that are upbeat, motivating, and designed to leave dancers feeling strong and ready for the day ahead. Her sessions blend athletic movement with positive energy, making every class both challenging and fun.

This summer, campers can look forward to dynamic Pilates classes focused on strength, control, flexibility, and confidence—all while moving to the best music and starting each day on a high note! 🎶☀️

So excited to introduce the first instructor in our July Workshop Series… Danielle Smith! ✨🖤

Danielle is a Toronto-based dance artist, choreographer, and educator specializing in contemporary and classical dance. A graduate of the Toronto Metropolitan University Performance Dance Program and Ontario Tech University’s Bachelor of Education program, she has performed in works by acclaimed choreographers and companies including Stephanie Lake, Hanna Kiel, Louis Laberge-Côté, The Blue Institute, Ballet Creole, and ProArteDanza. Danielle has also appeared in multiple dance films and screen productions, including The Testaments, The Jane Mysteries, and Fall For Dance North film projects.

With over eight years of teaching experience, Danielle specializes in ballet and contemporary dance and holds Intermediate RAD and Cecchetti ballet certifications. Her choreography is rooted in authenticity and connection, inspiring dancers to bring vulnerability, artistry, and individuality to every performance.

🔥 HIP HOP DROP-IN THIS THURSDAY! 🔥

We are so excited to welcome Jessie Kajorinne to Ignite Dance Academy for a special Hip Hop Drop-In! Whether you’re looking to challenge yourself, learn something new, or simply have an amazing time dancing, this is a class you won’t want to miss.

Meet Jessie:

Jessie is from Thunder Bay, ON, where she currently resides and works as a Registered Pharmacist. She began dance at the age of 14 years at International Dance Academy in Thunder Bay, training in several styles such as ballet, jazz, and hip hop. It was here where she discovered her passion for hip hop. She continued dancing with Legacy Dance Co. in Thunder Bay for several years, where she was privileged to teach hip hop classes to students of all ages, as well as adults. Jessie took her training further while living in Toronto, ON for pharmacy school. She became a member of Silhouettes Dance Co., a non-profit charity dance troupe based in Toronto which fused several styles together including contemporary, street jazz, and hip hop. She also choreographed for the University of Toronto Pharmacy Performing Arts Club. Additionally, Jessie was a regular patron of The Underground Dance Centre where she was able to train in various styles of dance, with a focus on advanced hip hop choreography. Jessie has had the honour of performing at various events in Thunder Bay, including The Hunger and other DefSup Art Gallery events. Her goal with dance is to celebrate the capabilities of all bodies in dance, as well as to share the joy of dance with others!
