We will also added a July 2nd volunteer sign-up (link in bio) as a backup date ONLY in the event that the July 1 races are rained out (credits will only be given if volunteers are needed on that day). This shift would be for families who are NOT travelling to Sudbury.

🇮🇹 Italian Heritage Month Spotlight: Tarantella to Thunder Bay 🇮🇹 Tarantella to Thunder Bay 🌎📕🇮🇹

This Italian Heritage Month, we are proud to celebrate Tarantella to Thunder Bay, a beautiful children’s book that helps preserve and share the rich traditions, stories, and culture of Italian Canadians.

Written by Le Stelle Alpine alumna Leah Nadin and beautifully illustrated by Caterina Tolone, Tarantella to Thunder Bay follows a young girl’s journey as she discovers the importance of family, heritage, music, dance, and the traditions that connect generations of Italian Canadians.

For those looking to share Italian culture with the next generation, Tarantella to Thunder Bay is a wonderful addition to any family’s bookshelf. The book is available for purchase locally at Toy Sense Thunder Bay.

We are especially proud that the author, Leah Nadin, is a longtime member of the Le Stelle Alpine family. Leah began dancing with our organization as a child and continued through adulthood. Over the years, she also served as an instructor, a member of our Board of Directors, and President of the organization. Her passion for Italian culture has always been evident, and we are thrilled to see her continue to preserve, promote, and celebrate our heritage through literature.

Congratulations to Leah and Caterina on creating a book that helps keep Italian traditions alive for future generations. ❤️🤍💚

This beautiful photo was captured during our performance at Ottawa’s Italian Festa, where our dancers proudly represented our organization while celebrating the music, traditions, and culture that connect Italian communities from coast to coast.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate what it means to be Italian-Canadian.

❤️💚🤍 Viva l’Italia! 🇮🇹

🇮🇹❤️ What an honour it was for Le Stelle Alpine Italian Dancers to be invited to perform at the Church of St. Anthony’s Feast Day celebration this weekend.

The Feast of St. Anthony is a cherished tradition in many Italian communities, celebrating the life and legacy of St. Anthony of Padua, the patron saint known for his compassion, faith, and helping those in need. For generations, Italian families have gathered to honour him through prayer, community, food, music, and cultural celebrations.

As an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing Italian heritage through dance, it was especially meaningful for our dancers to be part of this beautiful tradition. We are proud to help keep our culture alive while celebrating the values of family, faith, and community that are at the heart of Italian culture.

A heartfelt thank you to the Church of St. Anthony for welcoming us to be part of this special day. 🇮🇹✨

Italian Heritage Month Family Spotlight – The Talarico Family 🇮🇹

The Talarico family immigrated to Canada from Catanzaro, Calabria in 1968, arriving by plane in search of new opportunities and a bright future for their family. Upon arriving in Canada, Vincenza worked as a babysitter and homemaker, while Giuseppe worked as a painter before proudly establishing his own business, Talarico Painting, just two years later.

Like so many Italian families, their journey was built on hard work, sacrifice, and a deep commitment to family. Today, those values continue to be passed down through future generations.

For the Talarico family, being part of Le Stelle Alpine is about more than dance. It’s about staying connected to their roots, celebrating Italian traditions, and honoring the family members who came before them. Through dance, they are able to keep their heritage alive while sharing it with the next generation, ensuring that their family’s story and culture continue to thrive.

Thank you to the Talarico family for sharing your beautiful immigration story and for helping keep Italian traditions alive within our community. ❤️🤍💚
