Finally found a black bear chilling out by a swampy pond before a night of scavenging for food sources. Their thick black fur coat and lax lifestyle lets them be more active during the cooler hours of the day, being after nightfall. Their amazing night vision and built in GPS navigation is enough but moonlight is like carrying a flashlight for a bear.

Nice surprise when I pulled up to the wildlife observation station to see high overhead 3 cubs. The only sad news I believe they might have been the family that had four cubs last week.
