This Navratri, explore a sensory fast. 🌿

Our senses draw us outward throughout the day—toward screens, sounds, and constant stimulation. These nine nights offer an opportunity to gently turn inward.

Choose one sense you tend to overindulge.

👁️ If it’s sight, reduce your screen time.
👂 If it’s sound, try cooking or taking a walk in silence.

Start with one activity. Create a little space, observe what comes up, and practise bringing your attention within.

Which sense will you be retracting this Navratri? Tell us in the comments below. ✨

You can read about stillness… and still feel restless within. 🌿

Jñāna is often translated as “knowledge.” Yet, in a spiritual sense, it points towards something deeper than information we have acquired.

It is the knowing that unfolds through inner seeing, reflection, and direct experience.

Reading about peace gives you an idea of it.
Experiencing a moment of stillness allows you to know it within yourself.

The teachings offer a direction. Through practice and awareness, their meaning becomes something you live.

✨ What is one teaching you’ve begun to experience rather than simply understand?

Save this as a reminder to pause, practise, and look within.

You know what supports you.
You know you feel better when you go to bed earlier.
You know which foods leave you feeling heavy or depleted.
You know the habits that help you feel clearer, calmer and more balanced.
And yet… sometimes knowing isn’t enough to create change.

In Ayurveda, this can relate to Tejas — our inner intelligence, clarity and discernment. Tejas helps us not only understand what is right for us, but also transform that understanding into action.
When Tejas is strong, we can see more clearly, make wiser choices and follow through with greater steadiness.

In our upcoming 4-part Prana • Tejas • Ojas series, we’ll explore how to strengthen Tejas and move from simply knowing what supports us to actually living that wisdom.

Does Dhyāna simply mean meditation? 🌿

Dhyāna is often translated as “meditation.” But meditation can refer to a practice—a technique you follow or something you do.

Dhyāna points towards a deeper dimension: a state of being, rather than an act of doing.

Traditionally, gurus guided their disciples into Dhyāna through practice and direct experience, allowing the teaching to become a lived understanding.

The practice creates space for this shift. What begins as something you do can unfold into a presence you inhabit.

You’re eating well. Taking your supplements. Trying to get enough rest.

But somehow… you still feel depleted.

Your energy feels low.

Your resilience isn’t what it used to be.

And maybe even your sense of joy feels a little dimmer.

In Ayurveda, this can point us toward Ojas — our vital essence, associated with nourishment, steadiness, resilience and our ability to feel deeply supported from within.

And Ojas isn’t built simply by adding more.
Sometimes it’s built by learning how to truly receive nourishment — through food, rest, rhythm, relationships, breath, and the way we use our energy.

In our upcoming 4-part Prana • Tejas • Ojas series, we’ll explore these subtle energies and how they work together:

Prana — our vital life force
Tejas — our inner intelligence and transformative fire
Ojas — our reserve of nourishment, stability and resilience
The goal isn’t just to understand these concepts.
It’s to learn how to recognize them in your own life and begin applying this wisdom in practical ways.

🌿 What if healing is less about fixing yourself and more about returning to yourself?

On Ayurveda Day, I’m reminded that Ayurveda and Yoga teach us how to live with greater awareness. Ayurveda helps us understand our bodies and daily rhythms. Yoga invites us inward, beyond the restless mind.

Together, they remind us that body, mind, breath and lifestyle are connected. As an Ayurveda and Yoga practitioner, I’m honoured to help bring this wisdom into everyday life.

✨ Happy Ayurveda Day. May we listen more deeply, let go of what pulls us out of balance, and return to our true nature.

स्वस्थस्य स्वास्थ्य रक्षणम् । आतुरस्य विकार प्रशमनम् च ।
To preserve the health of the healthy and alleviate the disorders of the diseased.

🌿 Ayurveda is about more than living longer. It’s about living well.

Why does Ganesha come first?

We often invoke Ganesha before a new beginning because He is known as the remover of obstacles. But the Ganapati Atharvashirsha offers us an even deeper teaching:

“You are ever established in the Muladhara.”
Muladhara is our root — our foundation.
Before we rise, we must first become rooted.
Before expansion, there must be stability.
Before transformation, there must be grounding.
Before we ask life to give us more, we may need to ask whether we are ready to hold it.

Maybe Ganesha comes first not only to clear the road ahead of us, but to remind us to strengthen the ground beneath us.

So this Ganesh Chaturthi, instead of only asking:
“What obstacle can you remove from my life?”

Try asking:
“What within me needs to become stronger, steadier and more grounded before I move forward?”
Sometimes the next step isn’t to rise higher.
Sometimes it is to root deeper. 🌿
॥ ॐ गं गणपतये नमः ॥
Save this for your Ganesh Chaturthi reflection, and follow for more Vedic wisdom made relevant to everyday life.

A little sweetness, made with intention. ✨

In Ayurveda, Ojas is considered the subtle essence of nourishment—the reserve that supports our vitality, resilience, steadiness and sense of well-being.
I made these Ojas-building modaks with nourishing whole ingredients, bringing together madhura rasa (the sweet taste), healthy fats and grounding foods traditionally valued for their deeply restorative qualities.

Ayurveda reminds us that nourishment is more than simply counting nutrients. It is also about how food is prepared, how it is received, and the state of mind we bring to eating it. Food prepared with care can become part of our daily medicine. 🌿

And yes… nourishment can absolutely look like a modak. 🤍
