The Solo Seal is the RAD’s highest level of examination open to students who achieve Distinction on their Advanced 2, taking place in front of a live audience and a panel of judges.
Candidates perform 3 contrasting solo variations and a finale, which have been chosen to meet the technical and movement demands of today’s top choreographers and directors. The Solo Seal is an opportunity for pre professional dancers to achieve at a very high technical level.
Come see young dancers as they harness their nerves and polish their technique to perform at their very best.

Join us to gain valuable feedback for your region, hearing and discussing feedback about the Late Spring 2026 Vocational and Graded exam session with RAD Examiner Loretta Beamish-Lachner.
These sessions provide teachers with feedback from the Examiner who will share positive and constructive observations on things he/she has seen during the tour. Please note that comments will not be made with regard to specific studios, nor is the session structured for discussion of RAD policy.
The Examiner Feedback Session is ideal for all teachers who enter candidates for Vocational and/or Graded examinations, or are intending to enter candidates, as the Examiner will highlight particular strengths and weaknesses observed in the current tour. Teachers can then apply this in their own studio to improve overall preparation for future exams.
