Notice a pattern here?

If you're barely eating during the day then struggling with nighttime snacking, the fix isn’t more willpower, it's be giving your body what it needs earlier in the day.

Try eating a solid breakfast (protein + fiber) even if you don’t feel hungry yet.

P.S. - I don't know who needs to hear this but a salad and a yogurt are not a complete lunch.

Do the above and your body (and cravings) will stop playing catch-up at night.

Setting aside time every week for grocery shopping and batch food preparation removes the daily decision-making and guessing about what to eat for your goals.

That frees up mental energy for the other important areas in your life.

Stop playing Macro Tetris and start planning ahead.

When it comes to nutrition, there's very little new or exciting under the sun but these famous influencers sure love over l-complicating it to make you believe otherwise and make a buck off of your attention.

Then you keep second-guessing yourself and bouncing around from one thing to the next instead of focusing on the basics long enough for it to matter.

Manage your calories, lift weights, eat enough protein and fiber, do cardio, and hydrate.

For the love of God, eat your damn bananas and blueberries and stop overthinking it.

Carbs are NOT the enemy.

Your total calorie intake dictates whether you gain or lose fat.

Most people obsess over carbs and sugar without realizing that fat is extremely calorie-dense, with most butter and oils coming in at over 100 calories per tablespoon.

1 gram of carbohydrate contains 4 calories.
1 gram of fat contains 9 calories.

Fat is also the macronutrient most easily stored as body fat in a calorie surplus.

No, I’m not telling you to go HAM on cake, cookies, chips, and ice cream. But if you paid closer attention to nutrition labels, you would notice that a significant chunk of the calories in those foods also comes from fat, not just carbs.

Plain baked potatoes and grains like bread and pasta aren’t the enemy, but they can definitely work against your goals if you consistently drown them in added fat from cheese, heavy cream, butter, and oil.

Even “healthy fats” like olive oil, nuts, peanut butter, and avocados are calorie-dense and very easy to overeat if you’re not paying attention. But most folks, unfortunately, pay attention to the wrong stuff.

I think MOST people who struggle with their body weight would do better by reducing their fat intake, especially added fat from oils, sauces, fancy coffees, and condiments, before worrying about reducing their carb intake.
