Volleyball Manitoba is looking for a motivated and energetic Summer Student to join our team!🏐

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in sport administration, event management, and community development to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced non-profit sport environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support summer camps and programming
- Manage camp staffing and schedules
- Assist with planning and preparation for Fall Community Programming
- Support community development initiatives across Manitoba
- Contribute to a variety of special projects and organizational activities

The successful candidate will develop valuable skills in program delivery, administration, communication, and sport development while helping grow volleyball opportunities throughout the province.

💰 Wage: $20/Hour
🕰 Hour: 37.5 hours/week
📍Where: Sport Manitoba

As club season is now over, we are seeing an increase in pop-up camps, open gyms, clinics, and training opportunities being advertised throughout the volleyball community.

While Volleyball Manitoba does not regulate or oversee these independent programs, we encourage all participants and families to do their due diligence before registering.

When considering a development opportunity, be sure to ask:
- Is the organization or event properly insured?
- Are the coaches certified and qualified?
- Have all coaches completed the required screening processes, including:
• Criminal Record Checks
• Child Abuse Registry Checks
• Respect in Sport Certification

A safe sport environment should always be a priority. Taking a few moments to verify these measures can help ensure a positive and safe experience for all athletes.

Along the way, she earned numerous provincial, collegiate, and international honours while proudly representing Manitoba on the world stage.

A standout athlete, leader, and ambassador for the sport, Alicia's dedication and success have inspired the next generation of volleyball players across our province and beyond. Her induction into the Volleyball Manitoba Hall of Fame is a fitting recognition of an outstanding career and lasting legacy.

The Volleyball Manitoba Hall of Fame recognizes and celebrates those whose dedication, leadership, and service have left a lasting impact on our sport. Today, we are proud to congratulate Wilma Fehr on her induction into the Volleyball Manitoba Hall of Fame!

For more than 30 years, Wilma has been a dedicated contributor to volleyball in Manitoba and across Canada as an athletic therapist, coach, mentor, and volunteer leader. From supporting the University of Manitoba Women's Volleyball team during its historic run of three consecutive CIAU National Championships, to working with Canada's Women's National Team and serving with Team Canada at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Wilma has played an important role in helping athletes perform and succeed at the highest levels.

Beyond her accomplishments on the national and international stage, Wilma has devoted countless hours to developing young athletes through school and club volleyball programs, while also strengthening opportunities for women in the sport through her leadership with the Winnipeg Women's Volleyball League.

We look forward to celebrating Wilma's induction at the Volleyball Manitoba Annual Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet, June 7th, 2026!
