It’s National Coaches Week (Sept 14-20)! 🏹 Let’s take a moment to say and celebrate the positive impact coaches have on our archery community across the province.

From grassroots club lessons to our provincial teams, every coach plays a crucial role in growing our sport, keeping members engaged, and supporting our archers at every stage of their development.

These volunteers dedicated their time to help regional athletes prepare for the Manitoba Winter Games—a life-changing experience for many. Without our community coaches, so many youth wouldn't have the opportunity to grow both as athletes and as individuals.

Big news from the national stage! Two Manitobans were honoured at the 2025 Archery Canada Annual Awards:

Khushreet Sandhu – Female Junior Athlete of the Year, after a record-setting season including a 5th-place qualification finish at the World Archery Youth Championships

Sean Murray – Volunteer of the Year, for his leadership in launching the ASA Indoor Championships and his ongoing work growing the sport nationally

Congratulations to Khushreet, Sean, and all eight of this year's award recipients across Canada! Manitoba is proud of you.

Join the Archery Manitoba Coaching Team!

We are gearing up for the Fall Heartland Lessons and are looking for new and experienced archery instructors to join our team! We have a specific need to fill our Sunday schedule (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Who should apply?

Youth Archers: Want to learn about instruction? You’d make a fantastic assistant!

Seasoned Archers: Looking to give back to the community and make some part-time income? We need you!

The Details:
Pay: $17-$20/hour, based on experience.
Training: No formal coaching experience? No problem! We are hosting a half-day training session on Saturday, September 19th.

📅 The deadline to apply is Tuesday, September 15th!

Help Grow Archery in Manitoba!

Interested in learning how to instruct beginner or intermediate archers? Archery Manitoba is offering two coach training clinics this fall!

📍 Instructor of Intermediate Archer – Level 2
Brandon | October 3–4

📍 Instructor of Beginner Archer – Level 1
Winnipeg | November 14–15

These weekend-long courses cover:

✅ Range safety, setup, commands, and equipment inspections
✅ Proper shooting technique and shot ex*****on
✅ Determining an archer’s dominant eye
✅ Mini-lessons, group management, and positive feedback

Why take the course?

Huge congratulations to Team Manitoba’s own Khushreet Sandhu!

On August 14, 2026, Winnipeg’s Sandhu set a brand-new Canadian Championship record in the Senior Woman Compound division, dropping a massive score of 691 in the 720 qualification round!
