Guys, I can’t believe I’ve been featured again in a second article in publication in Spain.🇪🇸 I received the news this morning from the editor

I hope this inspires other black women in the Twerk Industry to share their stories, it matters to all who love and care about the culture. It drives community, unity, and inclusion.

Tell your stories! Thank you to the most high that all that pain receiving threats, for speaking up… didn’t go in vain. I can now close that chapter.

Au-delà de la danse, est un espace de transmission, de sororité et de résistance.

Notre objectif : valoriser les danses afro-descendantes, honorer leur histoire, leur puissance et leur ancrage culturel. Trop souvent effacées, déformées ou récupérées, ces danses portent en elles des siècles de mémoire, de luttes, de joie, de spiritualité et d’affirmation.

Le twerk n’est pas juste une tendance. C’est un héritage.
Un langage corporel né dans les communautés noires et q***r, une manière de dire “je suis là, dans toute ma puissance”.
En particulier, pour nous, femmes noires et afro-descendantes.

Danser, c’est se réapproprier nos corps, notre narration, notre droit au plaisir et à l’expression.
C’est à la fois politique et poétique.

Bien sûr, la danse est ouverte à tou·te·s, sans distinction.
Mais il est essentiel de ne pas oublier d’où elle vient et de continuer à nommer, visibiliser, respecter celles et ceux qui l’ont portée, même quand c’était mal vu, même quand c’était dangereux.

Tant qu’on devra prouver deux fois plus pour obtenir la moitié des opportunités, on continuera de parler, danser, créer des espaces safe et solidaires et à prendre la place.
