⛳️ Gareth Duffy Memorial Golf Day 2026 ⛳️

One of the standout days in the Carnalea GC calendar returns for 2026 — and it promises to be another fantastic occasion both on and off the course!

With incredible prizes up for grabs, proudly sponsored by BETS Club Bangor and Courts Dining at Carnalea Golf Club, this year’s event is shaping up to be one you won’t want to miss.

There are still some tee times open, so make sure to secure your place before the spaces fill up!

Also, if anyone would like to donate a prize for the raffle it’s not too late! Any prize would be greatly appreciated! 🤗

Following our recent charity fundraiser in aid of the - organised by our member Jimmy Johnston in support of his great-grandson Kobe, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

We are absolutely delighted to announce an amazing total of £7,520 was raised!!! 👏

This is a truly remarkable achievement and a donation that will make a meaningful difference to children and families receiving care.

We had the pleasure to welcome Ruairi Forester from the charity to Carnalea GC to officially receive the cheque on behalf of the Children’s Cancer Unit. Jimmy’s family were also present for the special occasion, including his son James, grandson Daniel and, of course, Kobe himself.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, participated and helped make the day such a success.

This is what Carnalea GC is all about ❤️

A disappointing weekend overall for our teams, with some tough results across the board, but we’re incredibly proud of the effort, commitment and spirit shown by everyone representing the club 💚⛳

The Women’s Ulster Trophy team were narrowly defeated by Ballycastle GC.

Ballycastle also claimed the scalp of our Ulster Fourball team. Our men, carrying a 4-1 lead from the home leg, lost 4-1 away and unfortunately lost the tie hole.

The Ulster Cup team suffered a difficult result away to City of Belfast GC, losing 6.5-0.5, but there’s still the home leg next week to turn things around 💪

The Ulster Senior Fourball team came up short against Kilrea, while the Jimmy Bruen team also lost against a strong County Cavan GC team.

The weekend was saved by our Flogas Irish Mixed Foursomes team who had a great 3-1 victory over Portadown GC 🤩

Thanks to all players and supporters who represented the club over the weekend 👏

We are pleased to confirm that qualifying golf returns from tomorrow, Friday 1st May ⛳️

As we get back into the swing of competitive golf, just a quick clarification on the Ground Under Repair (GUR) rule:

• You have the option to take relief from GUR
• However, if you have a playable lie within the GUR zone, you may play the ball as it lies

Best of luck to everyone getting back out there and competing. Here’s to a great season ahead and getting our handicaps down! 💪

Fantastic result for our Ulster Cup team ⛳👏

A brilliant win over Balmoral GC sees the lads safely through, with the hard work really done in last Sunday’s home leg where an outstanding 6.5–0.5 victory left us needing just a single point away at Balmoral today.

Leading from the front, John McDonald was sent out first and delivered exactly what was needed, securing an impressive 5&3 win to settle the tie early. With the job done, the remaining matches were called in.

A superb team performance across both legs – well done to everyone involved and good luck in the next round! 💪🏆

A big thank you to our member, Jill Porter, for taking the time yesterday to give the outdoor seating area a proper clean in time for the summer!

It’s efforts like this from members that makes our club so special ✨

Great work Jill ❤️

❌ Mat Zones No Longer In Operation ❌

The grass is back! Fairway mats are no longer in use and you can all get used to playing off fresh fairways again! 🤩

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation throughout the winter months to help protect the course.

Now that we are playing off fairways again, a reminder of the following:

• Replace your divots
• Fix your pitch marks
• Take pride in your course

Enjoy your golf over the weekend folks! ☀️⛳️
