🏆 PARENT’S PLAYER OF THE MATCH - PRIYA 🏆

Priya gave an absolutely outstanding performance.

Coming on as a super sub today, she played with her trademark determination and showcased a relentless work rate, fighting her hardest to win the ball back immediately if she or any other teammate lost possession. A standout moment of the match came when she fearlessly took on a defender twice her size, leaving him in the dust before delivering a fantastic ball into the box.

She is as tough as they come, consistently plays with an incredible fighting spirit, and always makes a massive impact on the pitch for the Dynamos.

🏆 COACH’S PLAYER OF THE MATCH - HARRISON 🏆

Harrison earned this recognition through a true leader's performance in the center of midfield.

He set the tone for the entire squad, particularly in the second half, with his constant encouragement and vocal support for his teammates. Playing a tireless box-to-box role, he dropped deep to provide crucial defensive cover when the team was under pressure and drove forward to spark attacks when we were chasing a goal. He also showcased his quality on dead balls, testing the opposition with a couple of dangerous attempts from set pieces. A brilliant, all-action display from the skipper.

Sheffield Steelers U13s 6 - 1 Silkstone Dynamos U13s

It was a difficult afternoon on the road for our Legends as they fell to a 6-1 defeat against Sheffield Steelers. While the scoreline wasn’t what we were hoping for, it certainly doesn’t tell the full story of the performance.

Having faced the same opposition in a pre-season friendly and come away with a 3-0 victory, we knew this game would be a different challenge. The Steelers side we met this time was significantly strengthened, with three players who had been on academy trials during pre-season all returning for the league fixture.

Despite the result, Leonie and Ben were full of praise for the effort and attitude shown by every player. The team battled for every ball, showed great resilience throughout, and never allowed their heads to drop, even when the game became increasingly difficult.

Our reward for that persistence came through Hector, who continued to work tirelessly up front and grabbed a well-deserved goal to give the Legends something to show for their efforts.

Unfortunately, Sheffield Steelers were clinical when chances came their way, and their finishing proved to be the difference on the day. Credit must also go to our players for the character they showed, with their work rate and determination earning unprompted praise from the opposition touchline after the final whistle.

Football can be a funny game at times, and not every performance gets the result it deserves. The squad can take plenty of positives from their attitude and commitment as they dust themselves down and look ahead to the next training session and the challenges to come.

🏆 COACH’S PLAYER OF THE MATCH - HECTOR 🏆

Hector is sometimes overlooked for awards simply because his baseline is being consistently brilliant. He is frequently the player singled out for praise by opposition managers, and it's easy to see why. Armed with seemingly limitless energy, he reads the game with an understanding well beyond his years. He will chase absolutely anything down, acting as a constant, relentless threat to defenders. He grabbed just the one goal today, but this award is for an absolutely amazing overall performance.

🏆 PARENT’S PLAYER OF THE MATCH - NATHAN 🏆

Despite feeling unwell, no-one could have known that given his performace. Nathan rightfully earned the Parents' Player of the Match award. Playing at centre back on a day when our defence was put under immense pressure, he was the absolute epitome of a commanding defender. Tall, strong, fast, and clever, he knew exactly where to position himself to break down attack after attack. We relied heavily on Nathan to anchor the backline, and he delivered a massive performance when the team needed it most. In the dying minutes of the game, when we were a goal behind, he broke through beating player after player and very nearly scored an amazing solo goal.

Silkstone Dynamos U13s 2 - 3 Porter Irons

The new season is officially underway, and our Legends kicked off their competitive campaign with a home fixture against Porter Irons.

The weather certainly tried its best to dampen spirits, but both teams embraced the conditions and produced a fiercely contested match from start to finish. Every blade of grass was covered as the battle ebbed and flowed across the pitch, with neither side willing to give an inch.

It was Silkstone who struck first when Hector made one of his trademark intelligent runs, timing it perfectly to get on the end of an excellent through ball before finishing clinically to give the hosts the lead.

Just before the break, Theo doubled the advantage in style. Driving directly through the heart of the opposition defence, he showed great composure to lift the ball over the advancing goalkeeper and send the Dynamos into half-time with a deserved 2-0 lead.

Despite the scoreline, everyone knew the game was far from over.

Porter Irons found a route back into the contest early in the second half when an unfortunate bounce fell kindly for the visitors, allowing them to reduce the deficit. The goal shifted the momentum, and with renewed belief Porter pushed forward, eventually finding two more goals to turn the game on its head.

While the final result was a tough one to take, there were countless positives to build on. The commitment, effort and determination shown by every player never wavered, and the team’s fighting spirit remained evident right until the final whistle.

An inspiring post-match team talk from the manager quickly turned attention towards the future, ensuring the squad left focused on the lessons learned and excited for the opportunities ahead.

A disappointing result, but plenty of reasons to be optimistic as the season gets underway.

🏆 Coaches Player of the Match - Pria 🏆

The coaches unanimously chose Priya for this award. From the minute she set foot on the pitch her commitment, bravery and technical skill shone brightly for all to see. She consistently won her battles, tracked back without hesitation, and when her time came she drove the attack with real purpose. She caused endless problems for the opposition and was unlucky not to have scored on two occasions! Well done Pria 👏

30/08/2026 | 9:30 KO | Silkstone Dynamos U13s 3 - 0 Sheffield Steelers JFC

Just two games into the new coaching setup, our Legends produced a fantastic all-round performance to secure an impressive 3-0 victory.

From the first whistle to the last, every single player played their part, working tirelessly for one another and setting the perfect tone for the season ahead. The teamwork, determination and togetherness on display were there for all to see.

Going forward, Hector was a constant menace to the opposition defence. His intelligent movement and perfectly timed runs saw him break through on goal and claim a well-deserved brace.

Louis put the game beyond doubt with the third goal of the afternoon. His relentless work rate, bravery and quality on the ball were rewarded with a deserved finish, capping off another excellent performance.

While the goals grabbed the headlines, this result was built on a superb defensive display. The entire back line worked brilliantly together, protecting our goal and limiting the opposition’s opportunities throughout. Behind them, Grayson commanded his area superbly and played a key role in securing the clean sheet.

Special mention must also go to Jack, whose outstanding goal-line clearance ensured the shutout remained intact and highlighted the commitment shown by every player in a Dynamos shirt.

A brilliant team performance, three goals, a clean sheet, and three points. Plenty to be proud of and an exciting sign of what’s to come this season 💪⚽️
