A really positive morning on a tough pitch against a good Brampton side. The lads showed great work rate throughout, defended the box well when under pressure, and created some excellent chances. It was especially pleasing to see the work from training coming into the game, with good forward play into the strikers and runners supporting.

We looked dangerous in transition and, with a little more composure in front of goal, could have added even more. Plenty of positives to take away and another encouraging step forward for the group.

Coach's Player of the Match: Louis
Strong and aggressive throughout, using his body brilliantly to hold the ball up, bring others into play, and cap off an excellent performance with a well-taken goal.

Parents' Player of the Match: Joe
Calm and composed on the ball, solid in the tackle, and excellent with his distribution, particularly his forward passing through the lines.

Moment of the Match: Stan
Not much for our No1 to do but when required he stepped up with another cracking double save, showing outstanding reactions and bravery.

Our new toilets on Pogmoor Rec are now up and operational!
Strange to make a big thing about toilets but for the Club this is a really big thing!
Originally quoted over £75,000 by the Football Foundation for a “plumbed in” solution we thought it would be a nonstarter, but as they say, where there’s a will there’s a way.
Now we’ve not only improved the match day facilities for our Boys teams but we’ve also opened up access to four more pitches for our Girls section allowing us to add more teams for this season.
Big thank you to the Councils LoveWhereYouLive funding who without their support and money we’d have really struggled and to Mark Stell and Ryan Reilly for all their help getting everything installed and reassuring me that it would all work, never doubted you lads!!!!
